Slightly racist
Revisado: 11-25-24
This author had the audacity to speak on a cultural issue. There was an almost a comical and racial joke made about Black peoples naming their children with silly names.
That is an issue that should be addressed but not in a disparaging way.
This author does not have the right to put down a group of people .
It was rude and incredibly offensive.
He is not mention names like: river, poppy, moon unit, Kiefer etc
I will not read him because of his snide obnoxious attempt of joking at the expense of an entire group of people… Vulgar. He’s quite common actually.

Will this story ever end?
Revisado: 08-17-23
Scarlett O’Hara has nothing on Chris!
This is one of the most overdramatic and whiny and overdone productions I have ever heard.
I got through this book because I felt like I had to, but could not wait for the end because of the warbling over John whiny crybaby tones use for the character of Chris and the narrators way over the top interpretations.
The narrator was amazing at some of the character interpretations, but for Chris he was just making him sound like a a helpless child.
Confession: I really finish this book because it was like the creepiness of watching an accident happen. Because I couldn’t believe the narrator was going to continue with the trembling and his voice for so long… How did he possibly do that? His voice must be in terrible condition after this tome.
Wow…just wow

I was taken by the summary…
Revisado: 05-29-23
Probably one of the saddest books I’ve written with a very, very minor mystery aspect to it be labored questions asked over and over explanations described, over and over in the same way, yet not moving the story had it all. I really really wanted to like this author, and the story and it just fell flat

Gregory Ashe has done it once again.
Only criticism is that I wish he would have some more people of colour in main roles … sometime somewhere.

Eighty-six-year-old Betty Halbreich is a true original. She has helped many find their true selves through clothes, frank advice, and her own brand of wisdom. She is trusted by the most discriminating persons - including Hollywood's top stylists - to tell them what looks best.

I am simply completely underwhelmed & bored
Revisado: 07-10-21
Mr. Miner,
There was no reason to write this book. Period
Mind numbing boring, redundant, pintless and irrelevant to the subject.
No , I have know why this book is useful. If one cannot find a Xanax, a valium or sleeping pills...just listen to the drone of the narrator with the contents of the text. you will be OUT like a light.
I detest the time I wasted on this ridiculous novel..
