Historia
I was born of nothing. I’m a void, a rare supernatural capable of absorbing powers at the brush of my skin. Feared. Hated. Untouchable. Thibault Academy is full of supernaturals that want me dead, and the most powerful of them, the Paragons, will stop at nothing to ensure I go back to the hell I came from. They’re cruel, heartless, and have created an unlikely alliance to take me down. If I want to learn how to control the nothingness, I’ll have to survive them.

I've always loved Amy Harmon so I bought this book. It is well written. I have Native American in my genealogy so I loved living in their world for a bit. Thank you Amy🙂

Good but slow
Revisado: 11-30-20
It was a good book. A little slow in parts and a couple of times I thought about stopping it and not finishing it. But by the end I was glad I persevered and finished it.

Whole series is awesome!
Revisado: 08-06-18
I had this book in my library for quite some time before I finally decided to dive into it.
So glad I did!
Great sci-fi packed with action and romance. But, not too much romance. I really liked that because sometimes a story can really suffer from too much time spent between the sheets. If you know what I mean.
I went through all five books in the series quickly because they were all really good. I would definitely recommend them!

Too Twilight for me
Revisado: 03-09-18
This book just seemed way too close to Twilight for me. Not a vampire, but ......
The narrator made all of the characters sound the same. It was sometimes hard to follow which character was talking.
I don't think I'll be going on to book 2.

Could have been better....
Revisado: 10-19-17
I must preface this review by saying this was the first book in the series I listened to and it was book 3.
I believe the book probably would have been better if I read 1 and 2 first. The third was a hard to get into because of the jumping around to different characters that I didn't know. But, even with this, it was a decent book. It took me a while to like the lead male character. (spoiler alert) He was so upset with her after he found her again. He had thought he had killed her in a previous book, but he was upset because she was hiding? And she felt bad she hadn't tried to reach out to him? A little unbelievable for me.
The narration could have been better too. A bit too monotone and her accents were horrible.

Historia
If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn't supposed to be so hard.

Real romance for real people with a twist
Revisado: 08-08-17
I'm a huge fan of Mariana Zapata. She is the queen of the "slow burn".
Her characters feel like friends and their stories are so well thought out and believable.
If you haven't read/listened to a Mariana Zapata book - do so now! Always worth the credit!!

ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLES
Revisado: 05-12-17
What did you love best about These Men?
That love can come in different packages.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ian. He was just a sweetheart.
Did La Petite Mort and Ruby Rivers do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, but Ruby was way to breathy and porn star sounding for my taste. Too over dramatized.

He was tall, at least six feet, with dirty blond hair that hung over his eyes. His T-shirt read Nietzsche Is My Homeboy. So, that was Matt. Who Julie Seagles likes. A lot. But there is also Finn. Who she flat out loves. Complicated? Awkward? Completely. But really, how was this freshly-minted Boston transplant and newbie college freshman supposed to know that she would end up living with the family of an old friend of her mother’s? This was all supposed to be temporary.

Revisado: 02-20-14
I don't ever write reviews, but I just had to say something on this one.
The humor and believable emotions kept me listening. I have not finished a book this fast in a long time.
The narrator was great as well.
This was a bargin book buy and boy am I glad I took a chance on Jessica Park. Now I'm going to listen to some of her other books. :)
