I am so glad I didn’t listen to the reviews saying not to get this book!
Revisado: 06-15-22
I don’t usually write full reviews because I’m already planning the next book I will listen too. I saw a review that said something about thinking this book was going to be funny and that it wasn’t. I found this book incredibly funny, I mean even the title is funny and every time they said the name in the book is was still funny. I did not get the “rape vibe” others mentioned but I don’t listen to this type of book thinking it’s a literary masterpiece either. I have been accused by my children that I sometimes have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy and since I raised three boys I think at times that might have been true. That being said, I found this book to be an enjoyable, entertaining, and so darn funny and that is a win in my opinion. I have listened and read some incredibly awful books due to all manner of reasons but this is not one of them. I think this book is worth a credit.

Don’t believe the 3,4 & 5 star reviews.
Revisado: 05-15-22
I didn’t give one star because I love reading zombie books, I have read some fabulous ones and my share of bad , this one is really bad. The juvenile use of words ruined a really good story. I actually purchased and listened to all three. It was like a train wreck and I couldn’t look away. Honestly I thought that the author would evolve and grow with each book but it just didn’t happen, it makes you wonder who proofread these for him.
The use of man meat, meat thermometer, lady love, clam, drain the vein, there are so many more that are so ridiculous I can’t remember them all. The conversations between men that were policemen and supposedly professionals was sophomoric and the characters didn’t get a voice that was believable. The narrator was okay, he tried to make the best of just bad writing. The repetitive description of people and actions was tiresome. There were midget jokes and comments about because there were zombies the midget jokes were okay. I am not thin skinned or a person that gets offended easily, I understand authors are not politically correct when writing. I just really like zombie books and have nearly listened to every one of them on Audible over 7 hours in length. If the author would read a few other books in this genre like Mark Tufo’ s Zombie fallout for example to see how characters and events are well written. If a person, anyone that has ever read a well written book would be honest with him, they could go back a rewrite this series of books and make it really good. The premise and idea was entertaining but I couldn’t in good conscience recommend this book simply because the writing was so awful.

This was a really good book.
Revisado: 10-28-21
I’ve read other books by Mathew Mather and enjoyed them so I chose this even though the whole stuck in ice and snow books I have previously read were not that appealing. I think that there were times when the story seemed to slow but The details shaped the characters. I really enjoyed this book.

Revisado: 10-05-21
I’ve read the other books by Ryan Schow and really enjoyed them. This new trilogy does not disappoint. Ryan creates characters that you really can connect with and care about. This book does not have Zombies or preppers, it is regular people surviving really crazy events. I am looking forward to the next one!

Historia
In the near future, the constitution is outlawed, the government is ceremonial at best, and the country is about to lose her name. No one knows how this happened or why America prostrated herself to the kind of foreign forces who would impose obedience through compliance. Resistors call the occupation “creeping death”. Those countries grabbing at the reins of power see it for what it is - a full-scale invasion.

How did this win an award?
Revisado: 06-01-20
This book was ridiculous. About a quarter of the book was a sentence repeated five different way. How many times do we have to hear that Katie is a lesbian we got the first 15 times. The characters were uninteresting with no real depth. I get that a lot of effort went into writing this book and not everyone will like it. But come on invest in an editor or find someone to read your book that won’t tell you how awesome a writer you are when the book is not very good. I felt deceived by the reviews that raved about this book, they must have read a different one. I love zombie books, I’ve read a lot of them this was a rough first draft that somehow got published.

The book was ok. The narrator was awful!
Revisado: 02-14-19
I listen to a lot of audible books. I don’t listen to the radio or watch TV so the narration is a big deal for me. The main character Casey was a whiner and I just didn’t like her as a character. The narrator for both her and GT had horrible voices for the other characters that ruined this book for me. If I could avoid anything read by them in the future I will.

Disappointing, I should have believed the reviews
Revisado: 03-03-16
Would you try another book from Chrissy Peebles and/or Mikael Naramore?
This book managed to be every bit as bad as the negative reviews said. I cant believe the author was able to publish this book. I made it to the end of the book, but there was no way I would have bought book two... or even listened to it for free.
What could Chrissy Peebles have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Get an editor. Have someone that will tell her the truth when reading the book. I would be embarrassed and angry those I trusted to read and give their opinion didn't tell me the truth that this book needed work. I hate to be so harsh but I expect better quality from Audible.
How could the performance have been better?
The voices for the different characters were irritating. A good performance can make a bad book so much better, this was not the case. I am not sure that anyone could have made me enjoy this book.
What character would you cut from The Zombie Chronicles?
The characters were OK, it was the overall book. The premise was nothing new but had potential to be an average entertaining listen unfortunately it didn't work out.
Any additional comments?
I hope I got this for free and didn't actually pay for it.
