Historia
Gates Foster lost his daughter, Lucy, 17 years ago. He's never stopped searching. Suddenly, a shocking new development provides Foster with his first major lead in over a decade, and he may finally be on the verge of discovering the awful truth. Meanwhile, Mitzi Ives has carved out a space among the Foley artists creating the immersive sounds giving Hollywood films their authenticity. Using the same secret techniques as her father before her, she's become an industry-leading expert in the sound of violence and horror, creating screams so bone-chilling, they may as well be real.

Not Chuck's best
Revisado: 06-08-23
The root concept of the evil folly artist is amusing, but the overall journey was a disjointed fever dream that was less than enjoyable. I have been a fan of Chuck's works for over 20 years, and this is only the second time I've been ambivalent to his work.

Historia
Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal. When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

Harry in purest voice
Revisado: 05-24-23
The novella is yet another wonderful romp through The Windy City with the knight errant/gumshoe/wizard with the heart of gold. what makes this outing even more special is hearing the tale told in the author's voice, literally. It is great to know the proper pronunciations of names and how Jim imagines the characters sound. Bob sounding more like a geek than a perverted English gentleman was a nice surprise. I'd be more than willing to strap in and ride along with Jim again if ever he chooses to narrate again.

Fun and frenetic romp!
Revisado: 04-27-23
A wondeful window into the life and world of one of the screens most iconic chins. Help to provide a deeper understanding and appreciation for my childhood movie experience. A large portion of my comic book collection features Ash and his boomstick hawking Army of Darkness. A huge thank you to Mr. Campbell for sharing.

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Challenging
Revisado: 12-07-22
I had a hard time with this book. Due to the subject matter not in any flaw in the writing or performance. This story of how challenging it can be to break away from a toxic family structure is heartbreaking. The story of how people are treated infuriating to say the least. This book shows the outside world many harsh truths most would like to remain hidden. Excellent book but proceed with caution. It can be very triggering for individuals that had similar experiences.

Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Superb!
Revisado: 07-25-22
I think this is the author's best work yet! It is a delightful romp with lovely characters. For readers who are familiar with the prequels and sequels it is a treasure trove of Easter eggs that tie into the past and foreshadow the future. 10/10 would recommend.

Historia
Among the immortal Sithi of Osten Ard, none are more beloved and admired than the two sons of the ruling family, steady Hakatri and his proud and fiery younger brother, Ineluki - Ineluki, who will one day become the undead Storm King. The younger brother makes a bold, terrible oath that he will destroy deadly Hidohebhi, a terrifying monster, but instead drags his brother with him into a disaster that threatens not just their family but all the Sithi - and perhaps all of humankind as well.

Not for the first timer
Revisado: 02-05-22
I found this book to be a bounty of insights and revelations in relation to the original trilogy of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn. It takes you to places, originally seen in ruin and decay, during the their height or just past. There are echos of the future and answers of the past previously unknown. I can see how a person who picks this up without any previous exposure might not enjoy this tale. It was nice to see the seed of the Storm Kings creation as well as better understand his twisted motivations.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Great story telling that utilizes all the characters in just the right way. Fun pop culture and historical references along the way.
