Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Remarkable story!
Revisado: 09-07-24
This was an incredible story of heroism, bravery, and loss during a time of extreme tragedy and horror. I’m not ashamed to admit that I was emotional toward the end, shedding some tears.
I’m grateful to the real life characters that the book characters represented, and the author who brought this to life their sacrifices. Wonderful read!

Historia
Ryan Fleming is a young agnostic reeling from his brother’s death. Though he is deeply angry with God, he makes good on a promise he made to his brother in the final moments of his life: to visit a church at least once. But shortly after his arrival, the slick megachurch’s shoddily installed video projector falls on his head—sending Ryan through a wormhole into another world. To make it back to his own universe, he must partner with a woman named Faith to awaken a long-sleeping King—the World-Maker who can make all things new.

I thoroughly enjoyed this retelling of John Bunyan‘s Pilgrims Progress by the fellas of The Babylon Bee. Their ability to bring levity and satire to the original book, and mix with our culture is unmatched. Well done!

Historia
The world needs real men, real bad. And there are all sorts of conflicting ideas and messages about what a "real man" is (and is not). Is a real man one who hunts, loves sports, grills meat, fixes cars, and climbs mountains? Sure, sometimes. But that's not really the point of being a man. Brant Hansen paints a refreshingly specific, compelling picture of what men are made to be: "Keepers of the Garden." He calls for men of all interests and backgrounds to be ambitious about the right things and to see themselves as defenders of the vulnerable, with whatever resources they have.

Get it, read it, live it out! I was totally rocked by this book. Brant has a way of communicating God’s truth in a way that’s easily understood. I will probably re-read this every year.

Historia
In Garden City, popular pastor and speaker John Mark Comer gives a surprisingly countercultural take on the typical "spiritual" answer of the church. Comer explores Scripture to discover God's original intent for how we are meant to spend our time, reshaping how you view and do your work, rest, and life.

Such a great book for those who sometimes feel as though you trudge through the mundane tasks of work. I’m grateful for the refreshing perspective the author provides to understand my role as a worker and laborer in this world. Turns out the word “work” is not a four-letter word.

Stirring! Provoking! Timely!!
Revisado: 01-03-21
A stirring allegory with incredible lessons! I would recommend this book to everyone as it broadens the reader’s scope of understanding the depravity of man.
Evil has always been in the hearts of men. Selfishness is the means where corruption is the end. As a result, we are in desperate need of a Savior, his name is Jesus. He sacrificed his life to save all humanity contrasting the role and ambition of Napoleon.
Read this book to understand the craftiness of lies and deception when selfishness is at the helm of your life. Like Snowball and the other “lowly” farm animals, we should seek to put the needs of others before our own.

Historia
In Hitler, God, and the Bible, international evangelist and bestselling author Ray Comfort exposes Adolf Hitler's theology and abuse of religion as a means to seize political power and ultimately instigate World War II and genocide.
This fascinating study mines the depths of Hitler's beliefs and convincingly argues that without Hitler's misuse of Christianity the Third Reich would not have had its legendary rise, resulting in the deaths of more than six million Jews.

Wow! We really do live in a modern day Holocaust.
Revisado: 10-17-20
I wasn’t sure what to expect from reading this book. Hitler is a tough subject all around. After all, he is likely the most evil person this world has ever seen and the atrocities performed under his dictatorship are unspeakable. However, Ray Comfort did an amazing job detailing his family upbringing and adult influences in life so as to understand why (possibly) our world fell prey to his tyrannical reign. Then I was surprised when he explained how our world has gained a blind eye to the Holocaust of unborn babies right under our noses. He makes a good argument of how the Holocaust of the Jews then happened “legally” (obviously done through force and violence to gain power) and how the abortions today, killing millions of innocent babies, has similarly opened up a Holocaust supported and approved by society.
