Historia
It is 997 CE, the end of the Dark Ages. England is facing attacks from the Welsh in the west and the Vikings in the east. Those in power bend justice according to their will, regardless of ordinary people and often in conflict with the king. Without a clear rule of law, chaos reigns. In these turbulent times, three characters find their lives intertwined.

Always a good storyteller
Revisado: 10-08-21
I always enjoy a Ken Follett book even though I usually find his sex scenes a bit ridiculous and gratuitous.

Revisado: 08-07-19
An amazing life with a front row seat to history. A whole area of WWII that has never been told. Love, thrill, history, intrigue. It has it all.

Loved it
Revisado: 05-16-18
Though it took me a bit to really get into it, the detail and vastness of the portrait the writer paints of the time and the characters is so charming and so immersive, I was sad when it was over.

Geekstravaganza
Revisado: 04-18-17
Chock full of 80's pop culture references and technological and gamer history. As a geek and a video game addict myself, I loved the nostalgia. Not sure how much the less geeky would appreciate it, but the characters were relatable and interesting, and Wil Wheaton, who himself is a geek culture icon, was the perfect narrator for it.

Historia
She used to work for the US government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn't even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning. Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They've killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.

Another page turner from Stephanie Meyer
Revisado: 04-12-17
I try and pace myself with books, but sometimes you just can't stop listening. The lead character is the ultimate anti-Bella: smart woman who can take care of business. The lead male could be more interesting, but overall good characters, sorry, and great narration.

Historia
Quentin Coldwater is brilliant but miserable. A senior in high school, he's still secretly preoccupied with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child, set in a magical land called Fillory. Imagine his surprise when he finds himself unexpectedly admitted to a very secret, very exclusive college of magic in upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the craft of modern sorcery.

Took 11 hours to finally get interesting
Revisado: 04-06-17
Some start kids learn magic, get powerful, never really like each other, are completely bored, then finally something interesting happens. That about sums it up. I would possibly read the next one because it was so interesting in the last quarters and gets less "college age Harry Potter" and more fantasy epic. The narrator was good, would listen to him again.

Historia
Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. All Reacher knows is that he didn’t kill anybody. At least not here. Not lately. But he doesn’t stand a chance of convincing anyone. Not in Margrave, Georgia. Not a chance in hell.

Listen at 1.25x speed or else
Revisado: 03-22-17
Great story. I can see how this became such a popular series. But the narrator reads the book like he's some black and white film noir detective but even slower. However 1.25x speed makes it sound normal. The narrator has good older supporting character voices but is wrong for Reacher. Still worth it though.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Silly but fun enough
Revisado: 02-23-17
Is it a masterpiece? No. A simplistic view of a dystopian world. Better than the previous book in the series, however, and fun enough to listen to. I'll continue on with the series when the next book comes out.

Listening in speed up mode helps
Revisado: 11-28-16
Really loving and there are times when the narrator chooses a character voice that is so so so slow you can only get through it by listening in fast mode. First book I've ever listened to where I wished there was an abridged version.
