Historia
Molly Murphy is starting to think the cards are stacked against her. She's determined to be a private detective, but hampering her investigations is the fact that she's finding many places in turn-of-the-century New York City where women are not welcome, something that's as frustrating to her fiery Irish pride as it is to her rapidly emptying pocketbook. Then two business opportunities pop up simultaneously. An aristocratic family in Dublin fears their daughter has fled to the New World with her unsavory boyfriend, and they hire Molly to track the two down and send the young woman back home.

Molly and Her Messes
Revisado: 09-14-24
For me, Molly is not ringing true to a person at the turn of the 19th century. I like her continued spunk. The first book in the series to me remains the best. Would not read these books out of order.

Historia
As a heat wave engulfs New York in the summer of 1889, the city’s top models begin turning up dead, one by one, suggesting the work of a single killer. Society-girl-turned-investigative-journalist Genevieve Stewart is drawn into the case when Beatrice Holler, one of her friend Callie’s fellow models, is found with her throat cut. Genevieve and her compatriot, wealthy Daniel McCaffrey, are joined by Callie to seek out the suspects, which leads them to search for answers from the members of the elite, notorious gangsters, and the city's most prominent painters.

Gilded Age Art World Murders
Revisado: 02-28-24
Genevieve and Daniel tackle a mystery of art models being murdered. We finally meet Genevieve’s brother Gavin who had been in Egypt for years and he figures largely in the unraveling of the mystery as does Esmie and Rupert and Callie. Totally enjoyable as are the previous books. Looking forward to reading/listening to the next mystery.

Historia
When Lord Wrexford discovers the body of a gifted inventor in a dark London alley, he promptly alerts the watchman and lets the authorities handle the matter. But Wrexford soon finds himself drawn into the murder investigation when the inventor's widow begs for his assistance, claiming the crime was not a random robbery. It seems her husband's designs for a revolutionary steam-powered engine went missing the night of his death. The plans could be worth a fortune and very dangerous in the wrong hands.

Regency England-A Darker Side
Revisado: 11-26-23
The saga of Charlotte and Wrexford continues. Another mystery that involves dead bodies found and new friends made. Love that the author continues to build up her characters and involves science. Do not necessarily like how brutal the murders are. The performance of the narrator is excellent and glad it is done by a male voice. Will continue to read the series.

Historia
London's social season is in full swing, and Victorian aristocracy can't stop whispering about a certain gentleman who claims to be the direct descendant of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. But he's not the only topic of wagging tongues. Drawing rooms, boudoirs, and ballrooms are abuzz with the latest news of an audacious cat burglar who has been systematically stealing valuable items that once belonged to the ill-fated queen. Light gossip turns serious when the owner of one of the pilfered treasures is found murdered, and the mysterious thief develops a twisted obsession with Lady Emily Ashton.

Cute Cozy Murder
Revisado: 03-08-22
This is a delightful cozy Murder. I have not noticed how many books this author has written but I plan on reading them all!
This book is written from the viewpoint of a sixteen year old boy and is really quite hilarious.
The narrator is very good and you always know who is speaking.

Historia
Understandably, Lord Burford had some misgivings about hosting another house party at Alderley, his beautiful country mansion. After all, the previous two could at best be described as disastrous, since a couple of their guests were bumped off during their stay on each occasion. But with family members travelling down for the funeral of an elderly relative, the Earl really had no choice but to offer them accommodation.

Another Murder at the Estate!
Revisado: 11-23-21
Another mystery at Alderley and Lord Burford and Gerry are joined again by Inspector Wilkins after the dastardly deed is done. Witty, amusing and clever, they are once again joined by a large cast of suspects. Entertaining and fun to the last page, I highly recommend this cozy mystery.
