Narration is FABULOUS. Story is weak and short...

Not my typical genre but lately I've been trying new genres; especially stories narrated by Duchess & Duke DeFoix (because I love their voices and narration style).
The narration was wonderful. I could imagine the characters speaking and visualize the scenes. Unfortunately, there was NO story. Just when I thought that the story might go somewhere, I heard the word, "epilogue". What? It was over? Had I been holding a paperback, I would have realized how short this book is. I knew the story had "steamy" parts, but I assumed it would also have a plot. I'm definitely not an authority on steamy scenes; but I assumed they might comprise of more than a woman teaching a man the basics. I would sum up the story as: sex-education-101, conflicting life goals between two main characters, quick resolution, epilogue, the end...
Five stars for narration. One star for story. Really torn about overall... going for 3 (the average).

The story and characters came to life!

Duchess and Duke DeFoix are excellent narrators and role players. They brought the story and characters to life! I couldn't put my ear-buds down. Plot-wise, the story was satisfying and I enjoyed the overlap of characters and scenes from Books 1 and 2.

Couldn't stop listening!

This was my 2nd Claudia Stone Audible narrated by Duke and Duchess DeFoix. Like the previous audio-book (Book 1, Duke of Ruin), I planned to save the story for walks; but couldn't stop listening.
The plot was clever and had a nice overlap with Book 1 in the series. Like Book 1, the end was satisfying. A few story threads were left untied in order to pave the way for Book 3; but this did not diminish the overall story in Book 2.
The characters were well-rounded and the narrators (Duke and Duchess DeFoix) did a superb job of telling the story and bringing the characters to life!
If you like Jane Austen's books, I think you'll like the Lord of Heartbreak.

Would you listen to The Duke of Ruin again? Why?
Really enjoyed this! This isn't my usual genre; I listened to the audio-book based on a friend's recommendation. My plan was to listen while walking...but as the story progressed, I couldn't wait until my next walk... so... I had to finish it before I went to bed!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ruin. His character was well developed.
What does Duke and Duchess DeFoix bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Character personalities! They brought the story alive!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Many!

I thoroughly enjoyed the plot. I would have liked less passion and more friendship between Olive and Ruin.
