I am sad that it is over. It is so well written and has you with the first few sentences. I couldn’t put it down and couldn’t wait to get back to it when I did. The narrator was ah-mazing! He truly brought the book to life. It is filled with suspense, joy and triumph. You feel as if you are there working out the problems with them. It really is so so good. Ray Porter is amazing.

I loved this book. It was so well written. Each main character fully developed and aged realistically. It was life,a glimpse of someone else's memories.
I cried at the end. Not because of the ending but because it as over. I fell in love with Danny and his family. I missed the same people he missed. Great book. Hit the buy button.

I heard the author on NPR and couldn't wait to buy the book. I am only 30 minutes into it and I do not like the narrator. I know it is the author and I think the book is going to be interesting. However , she has no variation in her voice for each character, except to speak louder. I am going to have to actually read the book

Where does Somerset rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book ranks as one of the best fiction pieces I have read. I was sad when it was over.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the historic detail given to the location and it's characters. Each character was greatly developed throughout the book while keeping to the essence of their traits and actions.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many favorite scenes. Bit I think it would any scene with Silas. He loved her more than anyone would ever know.

Any additional comments?

I found myself staying in my car after a long drive just so that I could continue hearing the story. The narrator was fabulous and believable.

Rob you have earned a new fan!

I watched him on some talk show and was intrigued. I then saw clips of his interview with Oprah and just thought he was too "good" and "smiley" to be true. I had a few credits on my account so I thought, "What the heck?". I am glad that I did.

His book is full of interesting stories and side notes. He reads it so well and kept me and my husband interested the whole time. During the final chapters, I kept looking at my Iphone to see how much was left. I didn't want it to end. Having just finished the book, it feels as if I had family come visit for a week and they have just driven out of the drive way. I smile because they were here but saddened that they are gone.

Good book....definitely worth the listen.

Scarlett O'hara meet Mary Toliver

Leila Meacham, in my opinion, is one of the best writers I have ever read. The complexity of her characters is beautiful and the story a story full of depth.

I couldn't put the book down or should I say take the ear bud out. Truly an amazing book. Even my husband enjoyed listening to it.

I love the ending

If you read the trilogy you will love this book and how it all ties into them. And you understand how it all comes together. Beautifully written, extremely fast paced and at the end you just say Ahhh! Read it.. Read the others first then read this one.
