Revisado: 04-27-25
OMG, , wasn't listening, not reading, and there's so many subplot I kept having to rewind. IMO some of those weren't necessary. Also, when listening, to me it's hard to keep some of the characters straight, especially when their names are close, or as in this book, they're addressed by either their first or last name. But solid read.

With the legends and lore of Ireland running through his blood, falconer Connor O’Dwyer is proud to call County Mayo home. A circle that is about to be stretched out of shape - by a long-awaited kiss. Meara Quinn is Branna’s best friend, a sister in all but blood. Her and Connor’s paths cross almost daily, as Connor takes tourists on hawk walks and Meara guides them on horseback across the lush countryside.

The WORST Combination
Revisado: 04-12-25
So I listened to this, some parts multiple times, and I honestly can't tell you much about the story because the narration was SOOOOO BAD! If you still think you want to listen, start at Chapter 3 because the accent the performer uses in the first couple of chapters is the worst. Sounds like he has a lisp, hi s's whistle as well as his t's. The performer has two characters...one male and one female and neither of them are appealing or sound like the age of the characters. Nora, I have a tip for you....IMO if you sell and record a trilogy, the characters voices should remain consistent throughout the series! This book is an embarrassment!

Historia
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits. Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses.

The Performance Killed Me
Revisado: 04-09-25
Good story, but the performance took a lot to get paat. The American character sounds 16 and the Irish characters sound 80. Hard to buy into the romance.

If You're a Fan, Read it
Revisado: 03-23-25
I'm torn, I don't normally give sad books 5 stars, but if you're a fan, this book will be especially enlightening. Really gives you life from Haymich's POV and makes you understand how he got to where he was at the start of HG. I didn't really enjoy the performance probably because I had a different version of Haymich's voice from the movies/books in my mind. I really enjoyed the "a-ha" moments that sometimes hit way after reading the book.

Liked the Story, but...
Revisado: 08-11-24
The storyline was excellent, however, probably because I listened to it rather than reading it, I couldn't keep the characters straight. I finished the book, but if anyone asked me to name a character, I couldn't. During the climatic battle, I wasn't even sure who to root for because I wasn't sure who was whom. Although, I really liked the narrator, the voices of the major male characters was almost the same. I felt the book had Asian themes - Emperor, tea, robes, dragons, palaces, etc. - and could have benefited from a more Asian tone.

Great Continuation of the Story
Revisado: 05-17-24
First can I say that I believe these books were written for Young Adult and if you're looking for a book for your child, these book have a lot of graphic sex and sexual innuendo. Fine for me, but I'm 60, you may what to suggest something else for a child. I like the stories, characters, descriptive writing, and narration of this series. The characters are strong and fierce, yet flawed and approachable. They're people I'd want to know. The storyline is interesting and keeps the reader (listener) enthralled. You don't want them to end.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

Good Story, GREAT Performance
Revisado: 05-17-24
I've tried some of this author's other books and they weren't for me. This series, however, is excellent! Good story line and likeable characters with just the right mix of action and romance. Very fun listen and I especially like the narrator. I'll search out other books read by her. She does an amazing job with the various character voices and sets just the right pace. love her!

Historia
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Performance Awful, Characters Seem Different
Revisado: 05-04-24
I really didn't care for the narrator. The ones for the other books were so much better. The characters seemed so different to me also. Nesta has always been bitchy, but in this book she is almost wimpy. In the last book she's screaming Casion's name and letting him kiss her. I mean she covers his body with her own so they can die together and in this book, she's a floosy and a wimp. I found the sex a bit too descriptive also, but that could have been the narrator who almost screams during those sections.

Great book!
Revisado: 05-04-24
First, I'm a bit outside the target audience...I'm 60! But I didn't find that a hurdle while listening to the series. In it's most basic, the book is a suspenseful romance. The author does a great job of painting a picture of the worlds she created and keeps the excitement moving. Her characters are realistic, flawed. Honestly they're people I could see as my friends.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Three Quarters into the Book, it turns to Porn
Revisado: 03-31-24
OMG. Sweet story, until three quarters in, when they have sex. Romance is great, love it, but screaming words like "clit" over and over isn't necessary. Readers are smart enough to embellish on their own. And this on the day he adopts her 2 kindergarteners! I'm going to ask for a refund and I don't care how the book ends...I'm over it!
