The information contained in the audiobook was great, but the narrator was lacking unfortunately. He voice was just slightly grating. The books itself is. Great introduction to Aristotle and was exactly what I was looking for .

Historia
The periodic table of elements, first encountered by many of us at school, provides an arrangement of the chemical elements, ordered by their atomic number, electron configuration, and recurring chemical properties, and divided into periodic trends. In this Very Short Introduction audiobook, Eric R. Scerri looks at the trends in properties of elements that led to the construction of the table and shows how the deeper meaning of the table's structure gradually became apparent with the development of atomic theory.

Not quite like other very short introductions as this seems to assume a science background. I think the hard copy of this introduction would be more useful than audiobook. That said the performance was excellent.

The Thank You Economy is about something big, something greater than any single revolutionary platform. It isn't some abstract concept or wacky business strategy—it's real, and every one of us is doing business in it every day, whether we choose to recognize it or not. It's the way we communicate, the way we buy and sell, the way businesses and consumers interact online and offline.

Get the hard copy
Revisado: 08-15-24
A good book with good info, if a little dated. However the author/narrator’s voice and persona were terrible and really took away from listening to the audiobook for me. His “off script” segments were even worse and were not only completely unnecessary but were jarring and annoying, getting the narration off track. Don’t get the audiobook unless it’s free, purchase the hard copy.

This was a fantastic offering from The Great Courses. The lecture was informative and fascinating. The content is a little dated, I think from the last 90s or early 2000s, but it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Historia
The tradition of ancient philosophy is a long, rich, and varied one, in which a constant note is that of discussion and argument. This book introduces listeners to some ancient debates to engage with the ancient developments of some themes. Getting away from the presentation of ancient philosophy as a succession of Great Thinkers, the book gives listeners a sense of the freshness and liveliness of ancient philosophy and of its wide variety of themes and styles.

Historia
In Homer, Barbara Graziosi considers Homer's famous works and their impact on readers throughout the centuries. She shows how The Iliad and The Odyssey benefit from a tradition of reading that spans well over two millennia, stemming from ancient scholars at the library of Alexandria, in the third and second centuries BCE, who wrote some of the first commentaries on the Homeric epics. Summaries of these scholars' notes made their way into the margins of Byzantine manuscripts; from Byzantium the annotated manuscripts traveled to Italy.
