Historia
A series of bizarre occurrences suddenly plague the island of Cielo Nublado. A dead whale washes ashore riddled with enormous bite marks. A fishing charter is reported missing, jet skiers vanish, and a yacht is found mysteriously ravaged after some kind of enormous impact. Chief of Police Nico Medrano tries to investigate the matter. His search for answers puts him on a collision course with an 80-foot predator, long thought extinct. Violent and merciless, it has risen to the surface, and seeks to wreak havoc on the small island community.

Fun Escapism
Revisado: 09-25-22
This was a much better book than I expected. I don't know why I'm into shark thrillers right now but have found these
stories by Michael Cole entertaining.
The author leans heavily into the drug crazed bad guys trope. But the rest of the story was good with decent characters and some great banter between the "work husband and work wife".
The narrator is the one of the best parts of the story. He's good. He's not RC Bray-
But he's working on it. I really enjoyed the narrator, and he's the biggest reason I decided to write a review which I don't do often. Well done Joshua Saxon!
Perfect summertime at the beach read... or perhaps better if you’re camping in the mountains this summer ;0)

Historia
An alien game show. A deadly challenge. The fate of the world is on Astra's shoulders when a mysterious black orb appears with a challenge for Earth and selects her to compete in its strange - and very public - game. The rules are bewildering, and there are no second chances for losers. Yet, while Astra fights to stay alive and save the world from imminent destruction, the people of Earth are more interested in tabloids and gossip, like whether or not she's engaging in a scandalous love affair with a fellow contestant.

Ok-I enjoyed all 3 of these books. I've read some peoples reviews about the lead character "whining". I don't know what they are talking about as I never heard any. These stories are unique and well paced. The narration was excellent. I'm not a mystery thriller guy as a rule. But I would recommend these to anyone.

Nobody knew where it came from. Nobody knew why it came. When an eight-foot-tall man made of stone appears in the middle of a busy city center one July afternoon, two-bit (and antisocial) reporter Andy Pointer assumes it's just a publicity stunt. Indeed, so does everyone else...until the Stone Man begins to walk, heading silently through the wall of the nearest building, flattening it, and killing several people inside as a result.

I can't believe how long this stretches out for
Revisado: 11-12-21
I had to ding this title on both the overall rating and the story rating, because you can just skip huge
passages of this story and not really miss anything.
Ok, this author is good.
He could grow into a GREAT author if he quits being so verbose.
The story could have been really good.
Great idea ground to dust by bloviating.
It just drones on and on and on.
I believe this would have been a fantastic 4 to 5 hour story. Maybe 6 at most.
Like I said, great idea with a great narrator, but WAY too long.

Historia
Guy is about to finish writing his breakthrough online article. He overheard the story by chance in a pub and it’s guaranteed to go viral - all he needs to do is persuade the World’s Unluckiest Man to talk to him. His best friend Larry’s quest for killer clickbait material has led him to a recently appeared shanty town in Glasgow, where he finds some kind of urban voodoo cult. Ex-cop Sam has already come face-to-face with the terrifying force behind both these phenomena, but he’s been trying to put it out of his mind.

Revisado: 11-12-21
I enjoyed the story. Luke Smitherd did a good job on the narration in my opinion.
The author leans heavily into being verbose.
This would have been a great book if it had been trimmed to 6 to 8 hours.

Hilarious, and yet still great military Sci-Fi
Revisado: 11-05-21
Lots of people in reviews keep saying it is a knockoff of Expeditionary Force, however I disagree.
This story stands on its own.
Yes there are similarities, but if you give the book 2 chapters you will be hooked.
RC Bray is excellent, the story pacing is excellent , the squad characters are each unique, fresh and detailed.
Genuine laugh out loud moments, while also providing a sense of the true horror faced by warfighters in battle.
For those fans of Expeditionary Force, absolutely get this book. For the early fans of EF that thought EF had played the story out, you really need to give this a book a listen.
