Historia
Driven by the memory of a fallen teammate, TSU's 1941 starting lineup made Montana football history, charging through the season undefeated. Two years later, the "Supreme Team" is caught up in World War II. Ten of them are scattered around the globe in the war's various lonely and dangerous theaters. The 11th man, Ben Reinking, has been plucked from pilot training by a military propaganda machine hungry for heroes.

I think Ive read every book he's written. I'd recommend reading his books in chronological order since there are story links that make each book richer with knowledge of earlier stories

Horrible book
Revisado: 12-05-23
This is NOT historical fiction. There are no parallels with history. I'd consider this an alternate history...except it's completely unbelievable. The author seemingly has no concept of life on board sailing ships during the Napoleonic Wars. The thought of a 16 year old girl mastering all manor of sailing skills within weeks after arriving on a ship...then becoming Captain is absurd. Not to mention the ridiculous premise of the plot. A total waste of time.

Historia
In late March 1944, as Stalin’s forces push into Ukraine, young Emil and Adeline Martel must make a terrible decision: Do they wait for the Soviet bear’s intrusion and risk being sent to Siberia? Or do they reluctantly follow the wolves - murderous Nazi officers who have pledged to protect “pure-blood” Germans? The Martels are one of many families of German heritage whose ancestors have farmed in Ukraine for more than a century.

Truly amazing story. I found myself researching actual Martel family because I wanted to see where their decendents are now and how they've grown...and to compare with characters in the book

Historia
April Clarke-Cliveden was the first person Hannah Jones met at Oxford. Vivacious, bright, occasionally vicious, and the ultimate It girl, she quickly pulled Hannah into her dazzling orbit. Together, they developed a group of devoted and inseparable friends—Will, Hugh, Ryan, and Emily—during their first term. By the end of the year, April was dead.

Historia
Twilight of the Gods is a riveting account of the harrowing last year of World War II in the Pacific, when the US Navy won the largest naval battle in history; MacArthur made good his pledge to return to the Philippines; waves of kamikazes attacked the Allied fleets; the Japanese fought to the last man on one island after another; B-29 bombers burned down Japanese cities; and Hiroshima and Nagasaki were vaporized. Toll's narratives of combat in the air, at sea, and on the beaches are gripping, but he also takes the listener into the halls of power in Washington and Tokyo.

really needs editing. lots of repeated thoughts...endless ramblings that went on and on long after the point was made. Performance could use cadence changeup. Overall, I get the feeling the Author had pages and pages of research and decided to include all of it in an incoherent mess.

In the volatile and shifting political atmosphere of Eastern Europe after World War II, an inexperienced homicide detective fresh out of the academy is assigned a crime that no one wants to solve. Set in a bombed-out city in an unnamed country formerly occupied by the Germans and now by the Russians, the story follows Emil Brod as he unravels the threads of the cover-up of a brutal murder, while supporting his grandparents, his only family, in the equally brutal city.

Enjoyable...except voice performance
Revisado: 09-15-21
Other than main character voices were very poorly done. Especially "Lena" ...that voice sounds like a conceited 80 year old British matriarch...not a young vibrant widow. Partners voice was not much better.

Historia
At the time of the French Revolution, one of Britain's most skillful naval officers, Charles Saunders Hayden, is a young lieutenant, the son of an English father and a French mother. His abilities and his loyalty to the king of England are beyond dispute, yet his career seems doomed by his "mixed" heritage and lack of political connections. Consequently, Hayden is assigned to an aging frigate, the Themis, under the command of Captain Josiah Hart, a man known as "Faint Hart" throughout the service.
