My biggest complaint is the much too-frequent use of the “b” word. I’m really not a fan. I also disliked how one of the m/c’s clear need for anger management—almost as badly as he needed rehab—was ignored. Really made him unlikable at times. Felix, however, is practically perfect in every single way. The biggest plus is the humor. I laughed out loud sometimes. Root beer and vanilla ice cream, man! The narration is probably the only reason I completed the book. Just reading probably would have been a DNF for me.

Intriguing start to new series

Maybe he’s picked up a few things from all the books he’s narrated, or maybe he’s just that talented, but Dan Calley sure knows how to craft a vividly descriptive story with interesting characters and a unique, intriguing plot. The Player’s Lounge draws the reader in right off and makes the book hard to put down, or hit pause if you’re listening to Calley’s excellent-as-always narration of his varied cast of characters. A fascinating start to a series I look forward to continuing.

Love love love

Jay Hogan is an insta author for me. I love all her books, but Kane and Abe’s story touches my heart in a special way. Their love story unfolds in such a sweet, sensitive, tender way that is so completely romantic with a good amount of heat. They are exactly the perfect match, and it was great catching up with beloved side characters. Gary Furlong is the perfect narrator for the Painted Bay stories.

The second book in the Green Creek series is another work of art by TJ Klune, and it is once again elevated by the narration of Kirt Graves. Gordo Livingstone is my all-time favorite character in literature.

Dirty, sexy fun with a healthy side of sweet plus some informative lessons in kink make for a uniquely enjoyable read. This sex-positive poly trio revels in pleasure and gets up to all kinds of shenanigans to ensure one another’s ultimate fantasies are realized in safe, supportive ways. And politely randy puffin shifters just may be my all-time favorite side characters.

High angst but very, very low heat. Not what I’m used to from A/O books. The storyline tugs at your heartstrings, but it’s disappointingly tame and fairly predictable. John Solo does a great job narrating, though.

Understated but powerful

Deliciously filthy. Unashamedly hot. And, surprisingly, endearingly tender. Original storytelling, unique characters, lots of fabulous steam, and an unexpected third act that will warm and break your heart in the best ways. The subtleties in the narrator’s voice inflection make this story all the more powerful, whether he’s changing characters or highlighting their varying tones, such as Gio’s haughtiness, Silvio’s playfulness, or Master’s stern tenderness. All around excellent.

Lauren+Teddy+Jacob+hot athletes=pure joy! I love everything about this series, these characters, and this pair of narrators. I can’t wait to see what they have planned for future projects.
