Must Love Horses!
Revisado: 07-01-18
I had no idea what this book would be like but I loved it. Having had horses in the past and not being able to ride anymore due to injuries from a taxi cab accident I miss my interaction with horses tremendously.
The book cheered me up with the life lessons weaved into the story along with the Bible references for those lessons. Horses are one of Gods gifts to mankind and I am grateful to have had the chance to experience the bond that develops between two different species. I had one special Mare that I roped and barrel raced on. Looking back I can see how she protected me in so many ways. I had other horses also. Each with their own special personalities. I am thankful for what each taught me.

Historia
The CIA is looking for walking contradictions. Recruiters seek people who can keep a secret, yet pull classified information out of others; who love their country, but are willing to leave it behind to head into dangerous places; who live double lives, but can be trusted with some of the nation's most sensitive tasks. Michele Rigby Assad was one of those people. As a CIA agent, Michele soon found that working undercover was an all-encompassing job. The threats were real. The mission was a perilous one. Trained as a counterterrorism expert, Michele spent over a decade in the agency.

Fascinating true story.

If you could sum up Breaking Cover in three words, what would they be?
Amazing what this woman accomplished in the CIA after thinking everyone else was smarter than she was. Trusting always in God for his work in her life. Working together with her husband in some of the worst places and conditions in the world.
What does Michele Rigby Assad bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Having felt many times that I wasn't as smart as other people after starting work in a man's field and succeeding. Knowing that other women have felt the same.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes

Historia
Daniel Graham MacCormick - Mac for short - seems to have a pretty good life. At age 35 he's living in Key West, owner of a 42-foot charter fishing boat, The Maine. Mac served five years in the army as an infantry officer, with two tours in Afghanistan. He returned with the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, scars that don't tan, and a boat with a big bank loan. Truth be told, Mac's finances are more than a little shaky. One day Mac is sitting in the famous Green Parrot Bar in Key West, contemplating his life....

My favorite author since the Rivers of Babylon
Revisado: 09-23-17
What did you love best about The Cuban Affair?
The music at the beginning. I love the Buena Vista social club and Cuban music.
What did you like best about this story?
The obvious connection between what we think our Government is doing and how we are manipulated as U.S. Citizens. I knew someone who was planning to open a hotel over 20 years ago in Cuba when the Island was going to be reopened to capitalism or so he thought. I don't know why people in our country still keep thinking that communism or socialism will make us all equal. We definitely have a shadow government where some are more equal than others.
What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?
This is the first time I have listened to a Nelson Demille book on audio and I think my imagination while reading gives me a better experience. I tried to get my husband to listen but he just didn't get the humor. From now on it is a read for me.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The skulls and the recognition that Cuba no longer matters to the United States and that is sad.
Any additional comments?
Love DeMilles plots and characters. I will always read rater than listen from now on.
