Painful to Finish.
Revisado: 04-05-25
Poor character development. Poor awkward dialogue. Every character has the exact same background story (ie trauma, ran off on suicide mission, joined a group). The “adventures” feel contrived. No build up. Why do I care about a world being destroyed when I know nothing about the world. I also hate how everything links. Like nothing was planned out in the book at all.

Historia
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Toxic Example for Teens
Revisado: 03-16-25
As an adult (late 20s) reading the first two books of this series, I thought this was a disgusting example of a relationship for the young teen audience. Then book 3 was so over the top, I thought there was no way Rebecca would allow the book to end without calling out the toxic dangerous disgusting controlling behavior of Xaden. But here we go again. Ending another book without calling out the manipulative controlling behavior. I cannot recommend this book to anyone and am sad I have to explain to my little brother that this is unhealthy.
