I know this was written along with Brandon and it is well written. character development and story telling is excellent. It is just missing that little extra that Brandon brings to his story telling. Its a more serious written story and is missing a humorous component that is evident in his reckoners story series. The narrator is absolutely amazing as aways. It is a nive addition to the series and Michael Bohls should be proud, I know I will keep my eyes open for his future work. I took one star because it is missing that Brandon magic that I was expecting, but all in all the book is well worth the listen.

you still have to get over the fact that there is a lot of 90s and 2000s pop culture references when this book is supposed to be between 100 and 200 years later but overall very well written besides that fact. I do recommend this series.

It reminds me of Brandon Samderson's work. Very well written and the first book leaves me wanting me immediately wanting to start the second. I highly recommend it if you like fantasy coming of age style stories with magic and heroism.

Brando Sando does it again!

His work is some of the best writing of all time! He gives you enough character depth that you care for them but not so much that it becomes long winded and boring. This is a fantastic book and its not even one of my favs that he writes.

Good, but is teenage fiction.

I thought it was pretty good, but from time to time I felt myself rolling my eyes. These books are geared more towards the teenage girl. Still not a bad series though.

So Good!

I loved this book. I always struggle at the beginning of books to get into the character introduction. This book dives right into the storyline and I was hooked after the first hour. After that it seemed like a shirt 80 hours until the completion of this series with a promise from the Author for more to come. For me they will be automatically purchased. I highly recomend this series if you enjoyed Firefly/Serenity which the author admitted was his inspiration.

Back to the story

Book 3 sends us back to continue the story of Book 1. Book 2 seems to setup the character story that is introduced in this 3rd book, but is not necessary to complete for the 3rd book to make sense. Maybe the second book character introduction will be needed for later in the series. If you liked book 1 then you will love book 3.

Good, but not as good as the first.

1st thing... it really was a good book. My disappointment was that it wasn't a continuation off the first book. Same game but different characters that went down a different path within the game. I was really looking forward to a continuation off the first book story. There was less humor writing in the story for the second book which was disappointing. I didn't get as invested in this book as I did in the first book. It was good enough that I am going to continue in the series to see how it turns out. There seems to be a common thread that I want to see play out.
