Historia
In the beginning, there were sleepovers and best friends and pizza on Fridays. Then the monsters came. First it’s the human monsters, raping, murdering, and stealing everything they can get their hands on. Then, come the real monsters, and survival is no longer a matter of luck. To survive the dead, a little girl has to become something else. She has to become more than human while at the same time, sink into depravity that’s beyond the bounds of society.

Historia
In this groundbreaking history of the modern American metropolis, Richard Rothstein explodes the myth that America's cities came to be racially divided through de facto segregation - that is, through individual prejudices, income differences, or the actions of private institutions like banks and real estate agencies. Rather, he incontrovertibly makes clear that it was de jure segregation - the laws and policy decisions passed by local, state, and federal governments - that actually promoted the discriminatory patterns that continue to this day.

Recommend it
Revisado: 07-30-22
This book was recommended to me and I have been recommending it to others. It is thick with details, so it took me a while to get through. But the extensive case examples and detail to support the primary argument are what make it so logical and persuasive to me.
