Revisado: 01-05-22
I don't want to be a spoiler...I will just say that for most people things that are shared in the book will change how you see food or at the very least question some long held beliefs. If you are a person that searches for answers and wants to learn new things, I highly recommend this book.

Hopeful, honest insight into modern America
Revisado: 11-18-21
President Obama is a great narrator. He is easy to listen to and understand. I found this audio book to be very insightful not just of his presidency and all the events leading up to it but of America and Americans and personally of President Obama himself. It was engaging and entertaining, I highly recommend giving it a listen.

A truthful trail tale
Revisado: 09-02-20
Engaging and fun to listen to. Such a great story filled with all of life's emotional, spiritual and mental ups and downs that coincided with her physical experiences with the trails tangible ups and downs.
Whether you are a thru-hiker or not this is an entertaining tale...a sort of 'coming of age' story that happens on the trail...one thing was certain the person that started the trail was not the same person that finished the trail.

Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

Historia
Every day we work hard to motivate ourselves, the people we live with, the people who work for and do business with us. In this way much of what we do can be defined as being motivators. From the boardroom to the living room, our role as motivators is complex, and the more we try to motivate partners and children, friends and coworkers, the clearer it becomes that the story of motivation is far more intricate and fascinating than we've assumed.

Historia
Plenty of experts argue that anyone who wants to develop a skill, play an instrument, or lead their field should start early, focus intensely, and rack up as many hours of deliberate practice as possible. But a closer look at research on the world’s top performers shows that early specialization is the exception, not the rule. David Epstein examined the world’s most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors, forecasters and scientists. He discovered that in most fields—especially those that are complex and unpredictable—generalists, not specialists, are primed to excel.

Don't limit yourself...
Revisado: 02-01-20
Case studies on the benefits of humans being "generalists" versus specialists...and if you are on the path to becoming a specialist, wait until you are at a later age/stage in life. People gain more in knowledge and wisdom if they decide to study or gain skills in several things which, in turn, if they do decide to specialize later the things learned from the "general" educational period will benefit them greatly.

I love audio books narrated by the author, they know when to place an emphasis or dramatic pause.
A wonderful performance by the author. I heard the passion and emotion coming through my earbuds.
The best storytelling on how skewed our perspectives are in regards to what athletes are "supposed" to look like. OR the perspective that "fat" people can't run let alone do marathons and ultra-marathons. pssh! No matter your shape, this read is very, VERY motivational.
