Historia
Dick Morrison's life has become a nightmare of addictions, filling his days with overeating, overworking, and smoking way too much. When an old friend tells him about a surefire way to quit, he's more than willing to give it a shot. But what Dick doesn't know is that Quitters, Inc. demands a high price from anyone who strays from their rigid rules-like a few volts of electricity for the nearest and dearest... or maybe a missing thumb?

When the history of horror comics was written, one name stood and still stands above the rest: EC Comics. Now, AudioComics (a division of Pocket Universe Productions) presents EC’s The Vault of Horror, its stories adapted and presented in an audiorich fully immersive setting complete with a full cast, scoring, and soundscapes.

I can only hope they will be more!
Revisado: 04-30-25
These were absolutely great. Everything was. The stories, the actors, the sound effects, and especially the Vault Keeper. I sincerely hope they will do more of these, seeing that there are so many stories in this collection. 5*****

The best opening!
Revisado: 04-27-25
The best opening ever, followed by an equally great story, with a variety of characters. Some you like. And some you like to hate. All in all a great story. Wished Nate and Rachel could have reunited in the end.

Great story, not entirely centered around a courtroom.
Revisado: 04-21-25
Really enjoyed the multiple storylines that intertwined in this story and the fact that it did not solely revolve around a courtroom and court proceedings. It covered a vast array of topics, some historical, which made it ever more so interesting. Michael Beck’s narration was spot on, as usual.

Historia
Boisterous, ribald, and ultimately shattering, Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest has left an indelible mark on the literature of our time. Turning conventional notions of sanity and insanity on their heads, the novel tells the unforgettable story of a mental ward and its inhabitants, especially tyrannical Big Nurse Ratched and Randle Patrick McMurphy, the brawling, fun-loving new inmate who resolves to oppose her.

That was not simple narration…
Revisado: 04-17-25
It was a performance! Simply amazing. It brought the whole story and characters to life, to the point you felt you were right there with them.
The story itself did not quite resonate with me.
But the narration certainly made up for that.

Revisado: 04-16-25
The narration was very good, but I was not a fan of the musical interludes which didn’t bring much to the story as it unfolded. Loved that it tied to Dolores Clairborne, another of my favorite stories by Stephen King.

The master at his scarifying best! From heart-pounding terror to the eeriest of whimsy - tales from the outer limits of one of the greatest imaginations of our time! Trucks that punish and beautiful teen demons who seduce a young man to massacre; curses whose malevolence grows through the years; obscene presences and angels of grace - here, indeed, is a night-blooming bouquet of chills and thrills.

Historia
In the past thirty years alone, more than 2,800 innocent American prisoners—their combined sentences surpassing 25,000 years—have been exonerated and freed after being condemned for crimes they did not commit. Terrifyingly, this number represents only a fraction of the actual number of persons wrongfully accused and convicted over the same period.

Great book, stories and cases. How those guilty of cheating, lying and hiding evidence, all to keep innocent men and women in prison for years and decades, are never held accountable is beyond my understanding.

Historia
When two Stanford graduate students set out to create a new kind of cigarette that wouldn’t kill them, they didn’t foresee all the obstacles that lay ahead — or the powerful forces their invention would unleash. Nearly 10 years after the launch of the JUUL, Backfired: The Vaping Wars asks: Could e-cigarettes have been the solution to one of the world’s most pressing public health problems—or was this technology doomed to introduce a whole new generation to nicotine, and end up perpetuating an intractable addiction?

Historia
In 1989, Ben Spencer, a twenty-two-year-old Black man from Dallas, was convicted of murdering white businessman Jeffrey Young—a crime he didn’t commit. From the day of his arrest, Spencer insisted that it was “an awful mistake.” The Texas legal system didn’t see it that way. It allowed shoddy police work, paid witnesses, and prosecutorial misconduct to convict Spencer of murder, and it ignored later efforts to correct this error. The state’s bureaucratic intransigence caused Spencer to spend more than half his life in prison.

Very well written and narrated.
Revisado: 03-19-25
The level of detail and research that went into this book to tell the story of Ben Spencer is just amazing. It is very well written and narrated. One can only feel dismayed that an innocent man spent so many years in prison for a crime he did not commit, and yet never lost faith and hope that he would one day be freed. To those that put him there in the first place and then did everything they could to keep him there - shame on you. I wish you could be held accountable.
