Interesting story terrible narrator

I liked the story and the character development. It's an amazing adventure that was poorly delivered. The narrator sounded like a newscaster.
I love to listen to books though I think this one should be read.

Historia
From #1 New York Times-best-selling author Nora Roberts comes a novel of a woman who needs nothing, a man who sees everything, and the web of deceit, greed, and danger that brings them together - and that could tear them apart… As a professional house-sitter and freelance writer, nothing ties Lila Emerson down - not her work, not a home, and definitely not a relationship. She spends her life moving from one job to the next, sometimes crashing at a friend's Manhattan apartment.

Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Julia Whelan?
I found this to be an uninteresting read. The story line had promise though the follow through is trite. The narration is weak
Would you ever listen to anything by Nora Roberts again?

Historia
Port Mortuary, the title of Patricia Cornwell's 18th Scarpetta novel, is literally a port for the dead. In this fast-paced story, a treacherous path from Scarpetta's past merges with the high-tech highway she now finds herself on. We travel back to the beginning of her professional career, when she accepted a scholarship from the air force to pay off her medical school debt. Now, more than 20 years and many career successes later, her secret military ties have drawn her to Dover Air Force Base, where she has been immersed in a training fellowship.

Boring !
Revisado: 01-19-11
I generally like the Scarpetta novels but this one is a real snooze. The first half drove me crazy. The reader is monotone and makes Kay Scarpetta seem dull and mean. The second part picked up as the reader seemed more animated.
This is my first review and my first big mistake in choosing a book.
