Somethings missing!!
Revisado: 05-01-25
The Mitch Rapp series has always been my favorite. This book is somewhat of a letdown, however. I’m not sure what it is, the author or the narrator or a combination of both, but the book just seems to fall short and as such, is my least favorite in the series of 22 books so far. It makes me long for the good old Vince Flynn/George Guidell days.

Read it twice!
Revisado: 09-05-20
I had to listen to this book twice and also read portions of the gilded hardback Easton press original print book to fully grasp how epic and groundbreaking this wonderful novel by Ursula K Le Guinn truly is.
This book laid the foundation for Star Trek and Star Wars. Even the Classic sci-fi movie, the “Forbidden Planet”. Check it out for yourself.

Not what I was expecting.
Revisado: 06-03-20
I was expecting more of an air-battle action-thriller type of book. I wouldn't even call this a "Band of Brothers" book either, as the publishers summary of the book suggests. I thought it was quite boring, for the most part. I know it is a true story, with a happy ending, but I just can't recommend it.

I grow somewhat weary of this formulaic approach...
Revisado: 04-05-20
When I ran out of Mitch Rapp material, I ran into the Gray man and was pleasantly surprised. After eight novels it’s getting to be a little bit boring and formulaic. Which is to say it’s just becoming too predictable. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jay Snyders performances, Which are top notch. Sadly, IMHO, the best line in the whole novel is the final line. Not really looking forward to “One Minute Out”, After reading all the reviews. However, I will reserve judgment after I peruse the book.

The 5th book of the gray man saga is the best yet! Tip: Do read them in order.
Revisado: 02-17-20
Concise, compelling and completely riveting. Only the Gray Man can match Mitch Rapp for excitement in the era of the singleton assassin. The main difference is the CIA is out to get him, at least, the big bosses on the seventh floor. Not too hard to believe when you look at the reality around us. This book fills in a lot of holes in the gray man saga as he works his way and his talents around the world, slowly but surely back to the good ‘ole US of A!

Historia
Without John C. Houbolt, a mid-level engineer at NASA, Apollo 11 would never have made it to the moon. Top NASA engineers on the project, including Werner Von Braun, strongly advocated for a single, huge spacecraft to travel to the moon, land, and return to Earth. It's the scenario used in 1950s cartoons and horror movies about traveling to outer space. Houbolt had another idea: Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. LOR would link two spacecraft in orbit while the crafts were travelling at 3,600 miles an hour around the moon. His plan was ridiculed and considered unthinkable.

Very accurate portrayal!
Revisado: 08-14-19
After just having watched the 50 year anniversary special and titled “The Mysteries of Apollo“, a Science-Channel special on the subject of the Moonlanding covering this episode in particular, I can say that everything jives Perfectly including some of the rather sordid details in the 1960s.
For example, the famous Dr. Werner von Braun was accurately portrayed as both The Father of Modern Rocketry, aka “Rocket-Man“, under Adolf Hitler with the Nazis that the Americans captured (along with dozens of other scientists) and was expatriated back to the US in “Operation Paperclip” AND then led the US effort to put a man on the moon before the Soviets at President John F Kennedy‘s direction!
Every detail in this book is factually correct as far as I can tell. It is a fascinating and accurate account of what the United States accomplished in less than a decade after Sputnik and Yuri Gargarin were launched by the Soviets and is nothing short of staggeringly miraculous.
The story is well told and only 3 1/2 hours long and well worth your time. Not to mention it was a freebie and an Audiobook Original! Keep up the good work Audiobook team!

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

In a word “Terrible”!
Revisado: 07-30-19
I stuck with this book for as long as (in)humanly possible.
I listened to at least 75-80% of it, on the faint hope it would get better. Quite simply, the most disjointed, nonfiction, science fiction piece of garbage I’ve ever had the displeasure of crossing. And the more I listened to it, the more offensive and disgusting it became, until I could no longer stand it. Simply flat out horrendous. And this was a freebie!
Do not waste your time (10+hrs)!
