Lesbian Story
Revisado: 07-14-24
I should have read more reviews I suppose, this is a story of lesbians and if that’s what you like to read I suppose it’s an OK book, but I quit listening when I realized what it’s about. I don’t even read romance books, so why would I want to read about lesbians.

Historia
Brilliantly evoking the long-vanished world of masters and servants portrayed in Downton Abbey and Upstairs, Downstairs, Margaret Powell’s classic memoir of her time in service, Below Stairs, is the remarkable true story of an indomitable woman who, though she served in the great houses of England, never stopped aiming high. Powell first arrived at the servants' entrance of one of those great houses in the 1920s. As a kitchen maid - the lowest of the low - she entered an entirely new world; one of stoves to be blacked, vegetables to be scrubbed, mistresses to be appeased, and bootlaces to be ironed.

A very slow start
Revisado: 12-03-22
I did finish listening to Diaz. It was difficult at first it didn’t seem like a very good story, however, halfway through it got a little bit more interesting not something I would recommend.

Historia
Passionate, earthy, deeply affecting, The Red Tent combines rich storytelling with a valuable contribution to modern fiction: a vibrant new perspective of female life in the age that shaped present day civilization and values.
If you like The Red Tent, try The Harlot by the Side of the Road, a recounting of some of the most startling and explicit writings from The Old Testament.

Abomination
Revisado: 08-27-22
This book is an abomination of the true biblical story. Only names and some occurrences match, sometimes out of order sometimes in order. Very little of it matches the true story. The author took those stories and created complete falsehoods around them

Insight into the Old Persian culture
Revisado: 08-23-15
Intriguing story of a young lady's life in Iran. Insight into treatment of women and how marriages are arranged. It leads one to wonder how much of the story is accurate and how much this system is still in observance today.

Historia
For the first time ever, the full story of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral - not only what really happened but why, and how mythology has led us to completely misinterpret the real history of the frontier. Combining cinematic storytelling with prodigious research, The Last Gunfight upends conventional wisdom about what the West was really like, who the Earps and Doc Holliday really were, and what actually happened in Tombstone on that cold day in October 1881.

Grest lesson in history
Revisado: 12-27-11
This is a good listen for anyone interested in western history. Finding the truth about the western legends is enlightening. If you have read anything about the Earp brothers, this is a must.
