Jane Green, please hire a professional narrator!
Revisado: 06-25-17
I have been reading/listening to Jane Green's books for many years. I have always enjoyed them very much. This book was a struggle to finish because she is such a bad narrator. It was very distracting. I don't know who made her think she would be good at this, but she isn't. I hope she goes back to hiring a professional narrator soon.

At last!
Revisado: 04-04-15
I love this series. I read the book years ago and I always wished it would be available from audible. I ordered it the second I saw it and started listening. It ranks right up there with my favorite audiobooks. I am going to relisten to the series in order now, only problem is that Book #2 THE TROUBLE WITH VALENTINE'S DAY is not available on audible. Now I am hoping that will be available soon.

Classic Romance!
Revisado: 02-28-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I read this book when it was first published in 1979. It was definitely what we romance fans call a "keeper". I was very excited to see that it was on audible.com. Well worth a credit. I read it over the weekend. I enjoyed it just as much now as I did when I first read it. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. It is a classic example of the early historical romance novel and why the whole romance genre got started.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Devon Lindsey was my favorite character. She is in virtually every scene in the book. The book follows her journey from a 12 year old to a grown woman who falls in love during the time of the Revolutionary War.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably my favorite scene would be when the hero Andre Raveneau arranges for Devon to "marry" her childhood sweetheart.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, yes, yes. Emily Beresford did a wonderful job with all the characters and there are a lot of them.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait to listen to the rest of Cynthia Wright's novels. I am very hopeful that audible will release all of her titles. More than just enjoying listening to the book it made me remember why I fell in love with the romance genre. The reason I never outgrew that love is that I am always looking for a book I will enjoy as much as this one.

Historia
Autumn Haven's Las Vegas "to-do" list said to catch a show and play the slots—not wake up married to a sexy jerk like Sam LeClaire. The first moment she saw him eyeing her like a luscious piece of the dessert buffet, her usually responsible self told her to run. And she did—right into the wildest fantasy weekend of her life. But Monday morning jolted her back to reality, and before she could say "pass the coffee", Sam was gone.

This is my first time listening to a Rachel Gibson book. I loved it. Thought the narrater did a good job. I hope audible releases any more of Rachel's books that are available on audio, especially the rest of this series (Chinook's Hockey Team).

Disgusting!
Revisado: 02-26-11
I read the blurb that compared this to Stephanie Plum or Kinsey Milhone. I was excited to start listening to it. When the writer starting telling the story through the serial killer's view it made me sick. I had to stop listening. I was very dissappointed. I am sorry I wasted any money on this book. I can not listen to it and I would not recommend it to anyone. It is certainly not comparble to the Stephanie Plum series! I didn't want to give it any stars, but I had to give it one to submit my review.

Historia
Georgie York, once the costar of America's favorite television sitcom, has been publicly abandoned by her famous husband, her film career has tanked, her father is driving her crazy, and her public image as a spunky heroine is taking a serious beating. What should a down-on-her-luck actress do?

SEP is still my favorite author!
Revisado: 07-24-09
I loved this book, in fact I have listened to it many times since I downloaded it in January. I just read the other reviews and I was shocked to see how many people didn't like it. I have been a fan of SEP since I listened to her first recorded book IT HAD TO BE YOU. I have loved them all. I've listened to them all more than once, but WIDFL might be my favorite. I listened to it when I first purchased it and enjoyed it very much. I've left it on my i-pod, and take it to bed with me every night to listen to until I fall asleep. I loved the story, the characters Georgie and Bram, and the secondary characters. As far as SEP using the concept of the Brangelina/Aniston breakup, who cares? Writers do that sort of thing all the time. Did you ever watch Law & Order? Most of their stories are ripped from the headlines. Lastly the narrator...no one could ever replace Anna Fields/Kate Fleming. She was great. But I thought Julia Gibson did a very good job and I enjoyed her narration.
