Historia
Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents host, carols play on repeat, her mother pretends she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors come ’round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters. Things are looking cheerier than ever, until Becky’s parents announce they’re moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch - unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocados - and ask Becky if she’ll host this year. What could possibly go wrong?

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-23-20
I usually really enjoy Sophie Kinsella books and was looking forward to listening to this one. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. I kept fast forwarding in hopes that I would get to the heart of the story. It turns out there was no heart, just a story about shopping. I hope if Kinsella releases another Shopaholic book, she will give more thought to the story and her readers.

Happily surprised
Revisado: 12-12-19
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. I had never read any of her magazine or newspaper articles. I have to say I was happily surprised by this book. I thought it was incredibly insightful and very well written. I would recommend to anyone whether you’ve been in therapy or not.

Good for 30 somethings
Revisado: 07-30-19
I thought this book was well written and performed. But, I think the target audience is probably more toward women in their 30’s and early 40’s, especially if you are a perfectionist. I am in my mid fifties and I didn’t gain much insight from the stories, since many of the experiences the author
spoke about, were already behind me.

She’s certain that to succeed in a man’s world, she will have to go it alone.

Interesting story, bad narration
Revisado: 04-03-19
I found the story interesting, however I found the fact that the narrator spoke with an American accent when speaking as Marie Curie distracting. The narrator used accents for everyone else in the story, except the main character. I felt it really took away from the story telling.

Historia
Is it possible to write a sidesplitting novel about the breakup of the perfect marriage? If the writer is Nora Ephron, the answer is a resounding yes. For in this inspired confection of adultery, revenge, group therapy, and pot roast, the creator of Sleepless in Seattle reminds us that comedy depends on anguish as surely as a proper gravy depends on flour and butter.

Boring
Revisado: 12-27-17
Would you try another book from Nora Ephron and/or Meryl Streep?
I don't think I would. I was surprised by how boring this book was. I had high expectations for a Nora Ephron book.
What do you think your next listen will be?
The Glass Memoir
What three words best describe Meryl Streep’s performance?
Sounds like Meryl Streep
Do you think Heartburn needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No follow up needed! This was a very dull story.

Historia
Hopping from the Hamptons to the Manhattan dating world, the dog park to the red carpet, Cardinals superfan and mama's boy Andy Cohen, with Wacha in tow, is the kind of star fans are dying to be friends with. This book gives them that chance. If The Andy Cohen Diaries was deemed "the literary equivalent of a Fresca and tequila" by Jimmy Fallon, Superficial is a double: dishier, juicier, and friskier. In this account of his escapades, Andy tells us not only what goes down but exactly what he thinks.

Painful listen. Returned it.
Revisado: 01-15-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Let me say that I am a fan of Watch What Happens Live and enjoyed Andy's first book. This book is ridiculous. It is truly superficial, with Andy telling you about his daily activities. Working out with his trainer, going to lunch, complaining about his dog. It's not interesting or compelling in any way!
What could Andy Cohen have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Told some interesting stories. This was so boring.
Would you be willing to try another one of Andy Cohen’s performances?
NO!
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No! It was very disappointing.
Any additional comments?
The publisher and Andy should be ashamed for even publishing this book. It was clearly just a money making venture. It has no redeeming qualities.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Great listen for old & new fans
Revisado: 01-10-17
I have been a Springsteen fan for over 30 years. I found this book fascinating. Not only because it gave me insight in to Bruce's life. But, it also gave great insight into what it takes to succeed as an artist and what it has taken Bruce to overcome his demons. I think anyone who enjoys biographies would enjoy this book. It's thoughtfully written and beautifully read.

Historia
Like so many others, David Lebovitz dreamed about living in Paris ever since he first visited the city in the 1980s. Finally, after a nearly two-decade career as a pastry chef and cookbook author, he moved to Paris to start a new life. Having crammed all his worldly belongings into three suitcases, he arrived, hopes high, at his new apartment in the lively Bastille neighborhood.

Sounds more like he hates Paris then loves it.
Revisado: 05-06-15
What did you like best about The Sweet Life in Paris? What did you like least?
I have to say I was really disappointed with this book. A friend recommended I read it because I am going to Paris next month and I am also a food lover. After listening to this book I wish I could cancel my trip. David doesn't say anything positive about Parisians at all, just how dirty and rude they are. I truly do not understand why he continues to live there if there is so much to complain about.
Would you ever listen to anything by David Lebovitz again?
No
What else would you have wanted to know about David Lebovitz’s life?
Nothing

Historia
Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose during lunch at one of London’s fanciest restaurants. But when his big question involves a trip abroad, not a trip down the aisle, she’s completely crushed. So when Ben, an old flame, calls her out of the blue and reminds Lottie of their pact to get married if they were both still single at 30, she jumps at the chance. No formal dates - just a quick march to the altar and a honeymoon on Ikonos, the sun-drenched Greek island where they first met years ago. Their family and friends are horrified. Fliss, Lottie’s older sister, knows that Lottie can be impulsive - but surely this is her worst decision yet.

Even Better Than Expected
Revisado: 08-21-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Wedding Night to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version, but the narrators where great. I feel like they added a lot to the story.
What other book might you compare Wedding Night to and why?
I have listend to many other Sophie Kinsella books. They have all been good, but this is now my favorite
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
They did a great job of conveying the emotions of the characters. I also love the English accents.
Any additional comments?
I wish the story could have gone on and on.
