Historia
In search of respite, China takes off to St. Theresa's Monastery with her friend Maggie, a former nun. The goal is a brief, tranquil retreat—but there's a conflict at the convent. The Mother Superior has recently died, and a battle over the future of St. Theresa's suggests that her sudden demise might not have been accidental. Now, China's quest for a replenished spirit takes second place to a more earthbound pursuit: catching a killer.

Interesting story, appalling narration
Revisado: 07-06-23
Well, I found it an interesting concept,
having a murder mystery in a rectory, , the narrators performance was so unnatural and she voices the characters so poorly, it really took away from the entire book.
. I plan on reading it. I think that I can get a better take on it. Her portrayal of Ruby in particular was so artificial. I couldn’t wait until that character left the story. I can’t recommend this audio but I do recommend you buy the book

Historia
Kate Hibbert is all too eager to lend a hand to her neighbors. Although she has been a resident of the sleepy village of Lochdubh for only a year, in that time Kate has alienated one too many of its residents with her interfering—and not entirely well-intentioned—ways. When Kate’s neighbor sees her lugging a heavy suitcase to the bus stop, he hopes that the prying woman is gone for good. But two weeks later, Kate’s cousin arrives in town with the news that Kate has gone missing.

An excellent new chapter
Revisado: 03-29-23
Unlike other reviewers I have read, I thoroughly enjoyed this new Hamish journey. While references to Dorothy could have been further explained, I thought it was well written. Personally I am extremely grateful that Miss Beaton collaborated with Miss Green so that those of us who love Hamish can continue to enjoy him. Is it the same? No, but although he is in new hands, Hamish lives.

Awful ending
Revisado: 08-20-22
The end of this book was a disappointment, particularly because of the deep and well written characterization. If I had purchased it at this point I would be returning it.

The Narrator!
Revisado: 03-16-22
This was not in any way Hamish. I’m going to read the book to see if it’s also the author, but it’s definitely the narrator. Awful.

A new narrator is necessary for this book
Revisado: 12-31-20
I’m going to try to read this book in text. It seemed like an excellent story but the immature voice made it difficult to listen to. In fact I skipped a major portion. Sorry I bought it.
