Historia
After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she describes how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset.

Mind opening
Revisado: 07-10-21
this has been one of the best books I have ever heard. It has open my mind to understanding the core of why I behave the way I do. I have been able to name my fixed mindset Draco, and now on a journey of Discovery and how to work with him to change the way I interact with my family my co-workers and my friends.

Historia
In 1999, Quan Huynh shot and killed another man in a gang-related incident in Hollywood, California. He received a prison sentence of 15 years to life in a state that, at the time, did not parole prisoners with life sentences. Behind bars, Quan continued his downward spiral. This could have been the end of the story for Quan, as it is for many prisoners. But somewhere along the way, he discovered a new path - one that prompted him to commit to self-reflection, truth, and personal responsibility.

Finding freedom from our own life sentences
Revisado: 09-27-20
I am honored to have met Quan in prison. But not as a fellow inmate. Instead I met him as a fellow volunteer and mentor helping those behind bars to unlock their untapped human potential.
Quan book reflects the deapth of his transformation from a gang thug to a thoughtful, powerful, empowering force for good that he is.
The chapter that stood out for me the most was when he spoke about the power of takimg personal responsibility, something very few of us on the outside take time to do.
This book may inspire you to reexamime your life, rebuild relationships and redefine the very way you see our criminal justice system.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

powerful book amazing message
Revisado: 06-22-18
sometimes you come across a book that engages you not just emotionally but thoughtfully. This is one of those books. Told from the perspective of a 16 year old girl in the modern era from the projects, it puts a new face on the shootings that have captured headlines. it gives a eyewitness account of what it feels like to lose someone you love 2 gun violence especially when that gun violence comes from a police officer. I feel it is a balanced book. I highly recommend it!

The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

What's the secret to sales success? If you're like most business leaders, you'd say it's fundamentally about relationships - and you'd be wrong. The best salespeople don't just build relationships with customers. They challenge them. The need to understand what top-performing reps are doing that their average performing colleagues are not drove Matthew Dixon, Brent Adamson, and their colleagues at Corporate Executive Board to investigate the skills, behaviors, knowledge, and attitudes that matter most for high performance.

Powerful concept in a book that is an infomercial
Revisado: 12-25-17
The main concepts in this book are great. understanding the Challenger model can be a great asset inside the company or for an individual performer. However, the book seems to be much longer than it has to be as well as creating more and more complexity instead of simplification. Furthermore, the research cited does not seem to be collaborated by anyone except the authors and the numbers do not seem credible. Lastly, the way the book set up, turns it into a major infomercial for the business consulting company. that makes the advice less credible in my opinion. that said, I found the concepts in the book refreshing and useful.

Historia
The first invasion of Earth was beaten back by a coalition of corporate and international military forces and the Chinese army. China has been devastated by the Formic's initial efforts to eradicate Earth life forms and prepare the ground for their own settlement. The Scouring of China struck fear into the other nations of the planet; that fear blossomed into drastic action when scientists determined that the single ship that wreaked such damage was merely a scout ship. There is a mothership out beyond the solar system's Kuiper Belt, and it's heading into the system.
