Revisado: 05-02-25
Joanna Davidson Politano has once again delivered a story full of depth, heart, and spiritual richness. The Curious Inheritance of the Blakey House takes readers on an unforgettable journey of mystery, faith, and healing. Sydney Forrester is a truly captivating character—vulnerable yet strong—and her quest to uncover the truth kept me eagerly turning the pages.
This novel stirs the full range of emotions, from raw sorrow to the sweetest joy. Watching Sydney grow closer to God through her trials was a beautiful reminder of the grace we all need. One of the most touching themes was the metaphor of the broken automaton—how we, too, are broken and in need of our loving Father to repair and restore us.
With its elegant prose, compelling plot, and soul-stirring reflections, this book is more than a story—it’s a reminder of hope, redemption, and the tender ways God works in our lives. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a deeply moving read with a strong spiritual foundation.

I love that Joanna writes this and all her stories to captivate her readers/listeners and pull them into the story as if they’re part of the story. This book had me hooked for sure! Oh the twist and turns, and the details that made me feel like I was right there in the story. I absolutely love that it’s also read by an English person to really put you in the right perspective of the story. I love listening and hearing the Bible scriptures tied into the story as well.

Historia
All theater romances are tragedies. Ella Blythe knows this. Still, she cannot help but hope her own story may turn out different than most - and certainly different than the tragic story of the Ghost of Craven Street Theater. Yet as she struggles to maintain her tenuous place in the ever-shrinking ballet company, win the attentions of principal dancer Philippe, and avoid company flirt Jack, Ella cannot deny the uncanny feeling that her life is mirroring that of the dead ballerina.

I started out not really knowing what to expect. I will be honest I was reluctant. I’m not big on reading books with vulgar language. I had to step back and say what a minute, he’s is setting the stage for the time and place this was written. It was historical fiction and needed an accurate scene for laying down the ground work.
The further I read the harder it was to set the book down. All I can say is I’m so glad I read the whole thing and didn’t set it down. It truly didn’t disappoint. Frankie is one strong lady!!

Historia
At the height of World War II, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was home to 75,000 residents, consuming more electricity than New York City. But to most of the world, the town did not exist. Thousands of civilians - many of them young women from small towns across the South - were recruited to this secret city, enticed by solid wages and the promise of war-ending work. Kept very much in the dark, few would ever guess the true nature of the tasks they performed each day in the hulking factories in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.

Poor me
Revisado: 04-26-24
Don’t get me wrong I know there were hard times and I know many people sacrificed all and gave all during WWII. I just kept hearing how so and so was so mistreated and I didn’t earn x wage and the men were earning more than me. Look I’m not a feminist and I definitely don’t have tolerances for whiney women. I guess the story would have been better served without all the whine and cheese.
