Historia
They call him The Donkey because of the size of his dick. I call him it because he's a complete and total ass. I hate Landon Maddox with a passion, and I haven't even met him yet. Underwear model, star quarterback, arrogant, muscle-headed prick. I never wanted a stepbrother in the first place, and now I have one that thinks he's a God. Seriously. If his most famous asset isn't beaming down at me from billboard posters all over the city, he's spread across the front pages of every single newspaper, always for the wrong reasons.

This audiobook was so much fun to listen to. Sierra Kline is an incredible narrator. The story was engaging and I had a hard time taking myself away from the story when I needed to. And I'm not even a sports fan!

Historia
Amelia's writing was often prone to getting her into trouble. Hence why she eventually took on a pen name. But it seems, once again, her unthinking need to spill out everything onto paper will land her in hot water. After her sisters persuade her the only way to get over her love for Lord Nicholas Wentworth is to write about him, Amelia devotes hours and hours of ink to the subject. However, she never expects for Nicholas to end up in possession of this information.

Sweet Jaunt Into Romance
Revisado: 11-21-17
This was a fun story to listen to. If you're looking for a quick listen with a get-to-the-point fast plot, this is for you. The narrator, Stevie Zimmerman, has a voice enjoyable to listen to, but sometimes a bit unenthusiastic compared with what the characters are doing. The storyline could have used a bit more exploration and not lost anything as the characters were interesting. I was a bit disappointed with the Viscount in the story. He was mostly interested in thrills and what was inside Amelia's bodice, and his character wasn't fleshed out much more than that. If I were Amelia, I would have realized I'd wasted heartache on him and moved on, not let him feel me up.
Still, the story was engaging and entertaining. I recommend a listen.

An Engaging, Entertaining Listen
Revisado: 11-16-17
I loved the voice acting. It made the story come alive.
Listening to Chelsea's story was like listening to a girlfriend talk about her dating life. She touches on the scary parts of dating, the hear-pounding and fluttering, the excitement. There were times when I wanted to tell her to screw being polite and get herself out of there. There was a point where the dating got a little monotonous, but the story sped back up when the men started running in to each other.
The choose-your-own-ending part of the book was a huge bonus! I had to listen to all of the endings, of course.
Mild spoilers:
The part of the story where Chelsea hits someone in the head with a mini golf ball and she and her date laughs hard is hilarious. Oh my god.

Historia
Meet Francie Mills. She's 16. Lives in the boring burbs of LA. Is super determined and hopeful. And wants one thing: to be an amazing tennis player. Because if something exponentially, brilliantly wonderful like that happened, like winning the US Open or even getting to nationals, everything would be okay. Her life. Her family. Her. She would matter. Be part of something important. And wouldn't have to feel so unbearably sad and alone every time her dad gets drunk, again

This was a fun book to listen to. The voice acting was really great, and made the story that much more enjoyable.
The main character sometimes got on my nerves, but I think a lot of girls that age have similar issues and thought processes. Seeing the situations she got into and choices she made had me rooting for her.

Fun story, ultra-feminine heroine too feminine
Revisado: 11-02-17
I wanted her to kick a little more ass! However, that was not to be in this story. If you liked the first book, you'll like this one too. It is a fun story.
The narrator (or editor) still had pushed sentences so close together you can't tell where one ends and the next begins.

I really wanted to like this, but......
Revisado: 11-02-17
First off, the narration makes it nearly impossible to get through. However, I love apocalypse audiobooks, so I tried to push past that. Unfortunately, despite what could have been a good story line, the audiobook seems like it was written by a guy who oogles women. Certain comments put me off to the point where I couldn't listen any longer.

Good mix of genera, needs to be executed better
Revisado: 11-01-17
I was fascinated with the mix of romance, fantasy, and history. However, the first thing that put me off was the narration. It was very difficult to tell one paragraph from another, and sentences seemed to run together a lot.
I also wanted a bit more from the fantasy and romance, but the historical side of the audiobook was strong. Re imagining the Americas as a monarchy is a great idea.
Spoiler alert!
I was personally unhappy with the wedding in the end. It was the most rushed, un-romantic wedding I've encountered in an audiobook!

Delightfully Unexpected Story
Revisado: 11-01-17
I am a complete sucker for a love story. Sometimes it's easy to feel like you've read (or listened) to them all. Courting Morrow Little was not like any other audibook I've heard in terms of romance- I fell slowly for the romance in the book, and was deeply invested in the characters, their will to survive, and their love and respect for each other.

Completely Action-Packed!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook to a friend. It is exactly the type of book I like to listen to during the workday-exciting enough to keep me engaged, and easy to follow.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It is hard not to give any spoilers, but I'll say that I'm a little disappointed that Kai and Lolly didn't end up together. They deserve each other; neither are very likable. Then again, they are realistic people, and that is part of what makes the book fun to listen to.
What does Natalie Hoyt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Natalie Hoyt's voice reminds me of Emma Galvin, one of my favorites. In this particular book, Hoyt's voice really carries home the annoying, stubborn qualities Lolly possesses.

Reminiscent of the Divergent series
Revisado: 01-25-16
What made the experience of listening to Defects the most enjoyable?
I absolutely love this type of YA audiobook. A new, small society in which rules are imposed on the community to make the world better, yet ultimately is abused in the name of personal gain. That concept with the addition of powers is a wonderful combination for an exciting story, and this story delivers.
What did you like best about this story?
There was a real sense of fear that the community leaders instill. That made the story come alive. The cliffhanger also got me- there is a lot of story left to tell, and I'd love to hear the rest of it.
