Historia
The day after her ninth birthday, Lucie and Blake Sullivan agree, for the very first time, to let their daughter, Grace, make the four-minute walk back home alone from a friend’s house down the street. They joke with friends about hiding behind bushes to ensure she is safe. But the joke turns sour when Grace does not appear. Despite the best efforts of the police and local community, Grace seems to have vanished into thin air. With hope fading fast, Lucie knows she can rely on her husband to support her. That is until the day she makes a shocking discovery....

Finding Grace, tediously
Revisado: 11-09-19
The story was actually good. I felt it was tedious because at least the first half had not so much story with people doing things, but the majority of the time with Lucinda going on and on about how she felt, her suspicions, and her overall mental state. Once we got past that, and into more of the ‘16 years ago’ alternating chapters the story moved much faster, and had much more meat to keep your attention. The ending was almost too fast in contrast to the slower portions. But it was a very good job of tying up the loose ends.

Good story, but not great.
Revisado: 05-09-18
This was not as good as either The Letter, or The Key. The research that went into this was very evident which enhanced the minute details of the time. The story itself was just not as fresh as the other two.

Historia
Cherry Walker was a devoted, trusting, uncommonly innocent young woman who loved caring for a neighbor's little boy. But when she was asked to testify in court against his abusive mother, Cherry never got the chance. She couldn't lie if her life depended on it - and it did. Cherry's body was found on the side of a Texas road, after being doused with lighter fluid and set aflame. Attractive, manipulative, and violent, mother of four Kim Cargill had a wealth of dirty secrets she'd do anything to keep hidden.

An extreme sociopath.
Revisado: 03-20-18
This is such a well told story of a sociopath that is far beyond, hopefully, anyone we might know. But there are hints of people we do know in some of her actions. What happened to her to make her so extreme will never be known in full. But this book delves deeply into what she had become in a thoughtful and well organized way. Very very interesting case study. Now headed to google more in this case as suggested by the author in the epilogue!

Historia
On an isolated Texas ranch, Dr. Lucy cares for abandoned animals. The solitude allows her to avoid the people and places that remind her of the past. Not that any of the townsfolk care. In 1959, no one is interested in a woman doctor. Nor are they welcoming Calvin and Justin Bell, a newly arrived African American father and son.

Good story
Revisado: 03-03-18
Good story about a time in our country many needed to be informed about how tough it was for many of our citizens. And those who endured and looked to an improved future. We still have a ways to go by this story also reminds us how far we’ve come.

Really Good read.
Revisado: 02-16-18
I was very surprised at the unexpected twist at the end.
I loved the weaving of Ivy’s and Olivia’s story; one over the period of50 years and the other over several weeks. Yet they depended on each other. Really well done!
