Memories
Revisado: 05-10-24
My father was a career Chaplain in the US Army. He was stationed in Mannheim in 1962 am through 1964 hen I was 12 to 14 years old. Amazingly, in 1963 prior to Kennedy’s assassination my class was allowed to take a field trip to Berlin. I remember clearly our fear when the East German border guards entered our train car to inspect passports (entering and exiting). We visited the wall, Checkpoint Charlie, and saw the plainness of East Berlin vs West Berlin. This wonderful book brought back those memories! It proves so dramatically the hateful force that is socialism/communism and what free people with courage will do to break those bonds. Also, normally I have found that authors are poor readers but that was certainly not the case in my history instance. I highly recommend this book and remember the days when our news services were actually journalists and not just mouthpieces of government!

Historia
On a desolate beach in far northern Scotland, the winter storms have been washing up all manner of things since time began. But buried in the centre of one smaller iceberg is a shard of ancient Viking pottery telling a partial tale of a hidden mysterious island beyond the ice and mist, that was home to a great treasure and even greater horrors. Thawing in the same block of ice was a rotting flap of skin that refused to be identified but had similar skin patterns to a creature not seen for 100 million years.
