AMAZING. This book deals with many underlying issues, and through the young characters that the book examines, we are given a parallel universe to our own.
Listen to this book with the micro and macro in mind. Oh yea, and its a great childrens story too!

Fairies
Revisado: 03-22-05
When I first went to listen to this book, I was uncertain as I am a twenty year old and fairies aren't in my ordinary scope. However, this was funny and had some creative wordplay.
I recommend this book for all ages, but I know kids from 8-12 will enjoy best.

Balloons fill with hot air
Revisado: 03-22-05
It starts out a great book, just the kind I was looking for. Informative on real estate, while refering to basic underlying skills and behind the scenes experience.
Then the Apprentice came, just like his first book. Man, then it was a week in the life. I'm sorry, bit he is content with sleeping 4 hours and working all day with his money. Maybe he will reorientate his goals later in life, but I don't want to hear about it for half of the book.
Talk more about facts, and what made you a billionaire... less plugs for NBC.

Dragons
Revisado: 03-22-05
Finally a book about dragons that involves realistic fantasy built around traditional characters, it is a great new world with a story that begs for understanding. You find yourself eagerly awaiting more information about young Eragon, and all the people that help him along the way have their own agendas who you yearn to hear.
The author however, has learned the art of timing... and I await the second!

Very creative
Revisado: 03-22-05
This is a great story, and it is very orignal. From start to finish Bartimaeus is tricky, and you get to know him as the smartest demon around. The story has a main character, whose ambition precedes him, and has dedicated himself to revenge.
From this revenge he requires power, and the demons of the other world harness this power. Prepare for a battle, starting with a young boy and a new world.

An Adventure into Japan
Revisado: 09-07-04
This book drops you into the world of Japan, where it has been ripped apart by waging wars and the desire of men. The main character is torn between conflicting heritage, and wishes revenge on his families killer. Follow Takeo through his path of revenge, and feel his inner-most thoughts and feelings from first-person narration.
Never have I had so vivid of images, through excellent word-play as with this audio-book. During fights, you feel as though you are there, and during deep thought you can feel for his anger, pity, love, or desire. From intense first meetings of a lover, to the anger and rage from a betrayed master this is an amazing look into Japan, that has left me waiting for the next.

The Final Showdown
Revisado: 09-07-04
The third and final book in the Otori Trilogy, and I feel myself awaiting some other tale. As Takeo says himself, that is a tale that must be told by someone else. Takeo must now unite the islands in a world of peace, which he has now truly accepted through his enlightenment and understanding that ?all is one?. This final book is a large turning point in the fortitude of both Takeo and Kaede, and really shows why these two have the power to unite a fractured country. The books always bring back to the characteristics that make us strong, such as honor, pride, desire, love, pity, and compassion. These are the main points that make Takeo and Kaede such inspirational characters, which truly give an original look into feudal Japan.
This book was amazing, and the battles that wage give you vivid descriptions which unfold in front of your eyes despite the lack of pages to turn. I truly enjoyed this trilogy, prepare for martial arts, feudal Japan, Bushido, Ninja?s, warriors, romance, power, honor, revenge, passion, understanding, conflicts, religion, betrayal, and much more.

For Love or For Honor
Revisado: 09-07-04
The second book in the Otori Trilogy, and now after revenge has hardened his heart, Takeo must now live his life in the tribe. Hearn creates such an emotional split in Takeo, you truly feel sorry for his choices and honor that he upholds at all costs. The sacrifices that were made during these times become all apparent to the reader, and you begin to understand the rigid code that existed in feudal Japan.
This second book has more action from the Tribe (Ninja), and develops Takeo?s darker side, and begins creating the rifts for the third and final showdown book ?Brilliance of the Moon?. I can unquestionably recommend this second book, and encourage all readers to delve into this world of passion and honor headlong, as the third will leave you with a breathless conclusion.
