It wasn’t so bad as some of the reviews I read. But I do have to agree this was the least of the Bridgertons to date. Which was a shame. Taking a break before getting to Hyacinth & Gregory.

A high fantasy world with a plot! First off I loved that the world was explained as you went. You didn’t have to dredge through long tiresome descriptions of this new world. Instead it unfolded through the story. Definitely loved it. It certainly sucks you in for any listener/ reader who is a sucker for fantasy with all of the class in figures blood suckers, zombie like creatures, light magic.... say no more.

I love a good salacious thriller. It’s like this novel so badly wanted to be Gone Girl but in reverse?!? Sorry spoiler. It’s very strange to struggle through a plot and then wish the original plot was true over the actual twist.

Wow love this turn for the dark and mystery

I am definitely getting sucked into Leigh Bardugo’s books and loving it. I don’t often faithfully read an authors every book. And I can arguably say this is my favorite but it’s hard because I loved Six of Crows so so much. Recommend. And as always Lauren Fortgang is the best to listen to.

I am sure if you got this far you know the story is addicting

I couldn’t help but immediately download this book after finishing Book 2. I did manage to rip through it in a speedy manner. The story is certainly addicting. I would say though the events are a bit slower in this book and a bit of a lead up for what is to come next so as a stand-alone this isn’t the favorite of the series.
