This was a well written story. It was very detailed without being tedious. The characters were so interesting and well developed. And nobody can beat Sebastian York for narrating but the female was awesome too. She was perfect for Emory! Awesome story!

Intricate and intriguing

Julie’s entire line of books are so good and she weaves the characters and story lines together fabulously! It’s fascinating how she keeps all the story lines and tie ins straight. She really makes you invested in the characters. There was a gap between the second and third book so I went back and reread the first two books again before Gorgeous Misery came out. I’m one of those that takes notes and treats books such as these as mysteries to solve so even though I had notes I had to take new notes. I also love her ‘end of book shit’ so don’t miss that at the end of the audio book. I love her insight and I too was reading all this thinking omg. This is our government now in 2022....Or many similarities anyway.

It was awesome. Not what you always expect. It kept you thinking and was very in depth. Characters were deep and you were vested in them. Not your typical HEA. I was so stunned at the end. I felt all their pain. Left me crying... Some happy tears, some sad

Characters seemed completely lacking of any sort of feeling. There was no connection between any of them which was obviously the intent of the author but it didn't evoke any feelings from me as the reader. I wanted to read it because of the controversy surrounding it and I'm glad I did. It was by far one of my least favorites however.
