One dimensional people but no regular repetition of the gross and sometimes strange erotica or sexual depictions found in the regency books. Demo the value of hard work.

Revisado: 04-14-25
The one idea for the theme was shoved into the washer and agitated repeatedly for 20 chapters. If actual people were this stupid, the species would not have bested the era of the Neanderthal. Had it performed at 2.5 speed just to finish. There was no character that was likable. Not even the child. It takes a really offensive performance voice to ruin the part of a 4 year old child. The characters just get worse as they get older. Spare yourself. Wish I had.

Sense of humor. Self effacing protagonist.

Could have edited 3 love scenes and repetition of the theme of his “unworthiness”… but it’s another problem with a lazy or reluctant editor. Needed improvement there.

TOO FAR: he drinks breast milk…..they would have been just fine without the epilogue….🤢
Revisado: 03-16-25
Landor not her best performance but the story created space for both characters to develop. Her parents were my favorite characters…kind of Austenian manners….epilogue ruined it, so I won’t keep this or recommend it. Do women have to ALWAYS be sexual first….isn’t there a place for maternity to engender respect?

Historia
The cold, precise Duke of Montford demands things his way: neatly ordered, in place, and adhering closely to the rules. So he is furious when he learns that the tenant of his ducal estate has been dead for a year, and a stranger has been running the Honeywell business - which, by contract, is now Montford's. When he arrives in Yorkshire to investigate, he discovers that the estate is being run by an unruly, tomboyish woman - and a bluestocking at that!

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

The Happy Ending in true Jane Austen fashion. A little too nice, but better to have it all the same.
Revisado: 03-10-25
We get to see Lydia and the nefarious Mr Wickman after 10-12 years of marriage. They mature, Wickman is more of a surprise and his decision to step away from his dishonorable conduct is stretching it, and it happened too quickly, but it’s key to the story. That Lydia grows and matures is a testament to the Bennett style of raising daughters, This is worth the award, and that can’t be said about other works which have earned the award.

His brother Sam hopes to pull him out with a project to remodel a house for a friend of his girlfriend Lucy. Better Kleypas- until the redundant and boring sex scenes. Leave them alone!
Revisado: 02-22-25
It was a good long introduction to the storyline with another flawed and tortured hero… but if only she could learn to write and ending and SKIP the attempts at erotica. Maybe it’s expected, but they’re repetitive and the details are written like an invasion of privacy. Heroine, like her others, is flawless- but it’s a comfort to not have to read through two train wreck lives.

Not likely story with nice ending
Revisado: 02-13-25
Another shallow romance story with all the requisite awful sex and reality stupid misunderstandings that are the attempt to create romantic tension. Not historically accurate for the plight of women, so it was a frothy fairy tale for killing time.

Characters were uneven. Hard to hope her chosen one would be her only choice.
Revisado: 02-04-25
Characters weren’t as likable . Writing needed an editor as sometimes she’d construct a sentence that didn’t actually mean what she intended. Twice-maybe more. Not a very compelling story. Protagonist DID’T display actual gifts with math or numbers-it was just a shallow plot device. The book was on the shallow side. Disappointing.
