Perspective
Revisado: 02-06-25
When forming an opinion on something, it's good and helpful to have the entire story. Too often we listen to our chosen sources and make our story based solely on, perhaps, biased information. I loved the rounded roundedness this podcast took. We need to continuously counter ourselves and look for why the "other side" of an issue hold validity for those individuals. We are all living life based off our own experiences, and while experiences can't be denied, we have to be aware that they shape us all into the people we are today. Good and evil does not exist in the majority of issues we argue. There are fundamentals where the majority of people are going to agree, and for the items where we see differences, it would help us progress to continuously ask "why". Why does this person think this way? Rather that then believing them to simply be evil. That's too easy and ultimately dehumanizing and disconnecting. we should look for ways to connect instead of focusing on that which disconnects us.
Excellent podcast. In my opinion, it was clearly thought out and executed very well. Everyone with questions about this issue, as well as those who seek to see more value in asking questions, should listen to this.

Clever and Intriguing
Revisado: 02-23-21
Going into this book I had no preconceived ideas or expectations. I was pleased to find a very clever spin or a classic story. The elements Maas added were unique and kept me glued to the story. it was started about 3-4 days ago and I just couldn't stop once it got going. Her descriptions painted detailed pictures and her characters were intriguing and complex. They did a LOT of clicking (you'll see), and that was probably the only slightly annoying aspect I can think of.
Jennifer Ikeda did a fine job of reading the story. Her performance didn't detract from it at any point, and it seemed to keep the pace of the book.
All in all it was a fun listen. I'll be buying the book to read as well.
