Not even worth it for the sex

This is the dumbest book I've had the misfortune to listen to. It's neither funny nor sexy. It's hardly even a romance. The narrator barely differentiates between voices and everyone sounds like a snotty, loud cheerleader. The plot is phoned in and easy to guess. All the sex and porn complaints are WAY over the top. There were like 2 non-graphic sex scenes and a couple of non-graphic heavy petting scenes.

All sex, no plot. I feel like I started reading in the middle of a book. The couple was already together. It was obvious they were heavily in lust with each other but that's really all I got. Not much in the way of feelings at all. I guess there was probably action but I didn't get far enough for that.

Unnecessary cliff hanger ending

I'm not impressed with the cliffhanger ending on this book. This isn't something I object to if the story calls for it, but in this case, if I'd known this was a 2 part book, I'd never have bought it. There's no reason why this story couldn't have been wrapped up relatively easily with another half hour or hour of story. I don't see any need for a 2nd 7 hour long book. I love series' and read them more than I read stand alones. I also heavily object to turning every story into a multi-part book, just to get some extra money out of your readers. As much as I hate leaving a story unfinished, I doubt I'll buy the "second book". What a waste.

If you're into lying and infidelity...

This book's for you. I'm very sorry I spent any money on this book and even more sorry that I've had it for more than a year and can't return it. I'm not big on cheating anyway but if it were a 1 time thing and then the rest of the story went the right way, I could probably get over it. But this woman lies, cheats, is wishy washy and hops literally from the bed of her boyfriend to his best friend and back more than once and it goes on for over 20 hours... Gross. There's no way this can even have a HEA at this point and I can't finish listening to it.

Seemed like only half a book

This book didn't seem like it was 8 hours long. I guess that's good in a way. But I feel like there was more story to be told. We got the background for the characters. We got the part where they were brought together. We got plenty of sex. We got a little affection (a little). We got the Badd brother reunion and the 'I'm the oldest and had to step up after mom died' angst. We also got the confrontation with the ex and a sort of resolution to that. What we didn't get was the falling in love part, the her dealing with her issues part, anything at all about the town she suddenly arrived in. The book took place in 2 locations, a bar and a dock. Is that all there was to this town? Did no one that wasn't named Badd live there? The book was fine but it could have been much, much more.

Drugged desperate woman convinced to have sex

There's nothing mentioned in any of the other reviews I've seen on this book so I'm putting it out there. The female character in this book is raped and sexually manipulated multiple times in the very beginning of this book by the 2 male characters. She is drugged and scared with nothing to her name but the clothes on her back when they find her and have sex with her. Several times she falls into unconsciousness but they just wake her up and keep going. While it's not violent, she is still not capable of consent in her condition and there should be a rape warning on this book.

I didn't finish the book.

What a romance story would be if written by a man

There was nothing romantic or loving in this book.

There are those reviewers who routinely negatively review books specifically based on the content of BDSM or power exchange regardless of how the rest of the story goes. These people consider sex that they don't agree with to be negative and abusive.

That's not how I roll. I have no problem with power exchange, BDSM, pain, etc if it's mutually agreed upon and participated in. Unfortunately, this book was not that kind of book.

This book was a man degrading, insulting and abusing a woman with and about sex because he didn't like her competing with him at work. This book took 'boys will be boys' and escalated it to disgusting. This book took a woman who likes dirty talk and rough treatment in the bedroom and made her into a victim of someone who had something to prove. This book was sad.

I was so disgusted by the 3/4 mark, it was all I could do to finish it before writing this review and deleting the thing from my device. I will also be asking for my money back and not finishing this series.

Sloppy mouth noises

If you're ok with that, go for it. Otherwise, read this book, don't listen to it. As far as the story, it was ok. Aisling was a screw up throughout. But she finally bumbled her way through to a reasonable ending. There was some sex but it wasn't graphic. I won't be continuing on with the series as much as I dislike starting something and not finishing it. Unfortunately between the inept female lead, the half-assed romance and the sloppy mouthed narrator I'm just not going there.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. The writing was ok (with the exception of some unnecessarily and sometimes incorrectly used 10 cent words). The subject matter was even ok. I don't have a problem with Menage (obviously or I shouldn't have bought this book). I don't even have a problem with brothers sharing the same woman. The sex scenes were mostly well written and whether the 3 were all together or paired off the chemistry was well done.

My problem was really everything else. I didn't like the female lead's choices, her inability to stick to a decision or stand up for things she said she believed in. She held off one brother for a year (or more?) and then gave the other a hand job in the hospital (where she was supposed to be his nurse!). She never told the first brother about that. Then screwed the second, then the next morning screwed the first and again didn't tell him about any of the stuff she'd done previously. It was just horrible. For the first half of the book I thought they should both drop her. Then once everything was 'settled' it was obvious what was going to happen, it was just a matter of time. Finally, to round out her stupid choices she breaks up a relationship that never should have been going on -- or which she should have had enough pride and self respect to leave alone.

Anyway, it all leaves a confusing, ridiculous bad taste in my mouth. It was not what I would call a HEA.
