Historia
As one of the music world’s most iconic artists and the cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), Bono’s career has been written about extensively. But in Surrender, it’s Bono who picks up the pen, writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism.

Revisado: 02-05-25
I loved the music intertwined with the story, the accents and characters Bono plays, the humility and friendships throughout the story of some of my favorite men and their band called U2. Thank You for continuing to share your life with us. And God bless Ali for keeping it all together ❤️🙏❤️

Historia
The shark attacked while she was snorkeling, tearing through Micki Glenn’s breast and shredding her right arm. Her husband, a surgeon, saved her life on the spot, but when she was safely home she couldn’t just go on with her life. She had entered an even more profound survival journey: the aftermath. The survival experience changes everything because it invalidates all your previous adaptations, and the old rules don’t apply. In some cases survivors suffer more in the aftermath than they did during the actual crisis. In all cases, they have to work hard to reinvent themselves.

The WILL to persevere!
Revisado: 07-19-24
First of all, the author was perfect reading his own book. Beautifully narrated.
Second, each story, each person, each trauma had its own distinct lesson.
I appreciated the science interspersed between the chapters. Almost a “How to Survival manual.”
Everyone has something to learn from this book, no matter the extent of one’s trauma.
I will be thinking about this book for a time, also recommending it to everyone!
Thank you Mr Gonzalas. And thank you to all the people who allowed their stories to be told.

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

Historia
Often considered one of the first ever psychological thrillers, Crime and Punishment is a gripping tale of a poverty-stricken young man in Saint Petersburg, Russia, who hatches a plan to kill someone for money. Once the deed is done, he finds himself racked with guilt, confusion and disgust for his act. In this new recording, Will Poulter gives new life to the troubled protagonist, Rodion Raskolnikov, in a performance that will have you questioning where we draw the line between right and wrong.

Will Poulter does an outstanding job in winding through this tediously overwritten story! I realize he’s considered a master but how much martyrdom does one have to endure?

When Michael K. Williams died on September 6, 2021, he left behind a career as one of the most electrifying actors of his generation. From his star turn as Omar Little in The Wire to Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire to Emmy-nominated roles in HBO’s The Night Of and Lovecraft Country, Williams inhabited a slew of indelible roles that he portrayed with a rawness and vulnerability that leapt off the screen.

BITTERFUCKINGSWEET
Revisado: 08-02-23
First, Dion did a fantastic job with the narration, perfect. I wept, I laughed, and I cursed to the Gods. Michaels's human core of truth, light, and humbleness brings us to a heartbreaking REAL account. He shares his soul's depths with us and takes us through the triumphs of his existence. Us always knowing there's a ticking time clock because his life is ill-fated. From the very beginning, he gave us SO very MUCH while he lived. And I will dedicate a part of my life and book to him. Thank you, Michael, wherever you may be; thank you for the time you did share with us. I always knew you had to leave us when the time came. This place is too harsh for a soul such as yours: Godspeed, my friend.

Love comes with an affair with an older married woman and an unfulfilled flame with his editor, while wealth pours in with the publication of his second novel, and participation in real-estate developments.
