As always HCR cuts through the rhetoric
Revisado: 12-06-23
HCR gets right to the reason the current Republican party is a threat to Democracy. Excellent review of how we got here and how we get out of here.

Historia
It’s summer in Memphis. The sweat is sticking to Rudy Baylor’s shirt and creditors are nipping at his heels. Once he had aspirations of breezing through law school and punching his ticket to the good life. Now he doesn’t have a job or a prayer—except for one: an insurance dispute that leaves a family devastated and opens the door for a lawsuit, if Rudy can find a way to file it. By the time Rudy gets to court, a heavyweight corporate defense team is there to meet him. And suddenly he’s in over his head, plunged into a nightmare of lies and legal maneuverings.

There are several repeating sentences as mentioned in other reviews. Otherwise a good story, classic Grisham.

love the books hate the narrator
Revisado: 08-30-22
I’ve been reading the Scarpetta novels for 30 years. I though revisiting them as audiobooks would be great but the narrator’s voices are awful, especially Benton - not sure I’ll get more.

Excellent as expected!

Cannot wait for the second part! I absolutely loved hearing how President Obama and his family navigated the American presidency. His reflections in the rise of the tea party were interesting and insightful. He is honest without being bitter.

The narrato is AWFUL
Revisado: 06-04-20
A grown woman using a whispery breathy voice to read as a 12 year old destroys this story. The whispering means I am constantly adjusting my volume to hear and then when she is reading as someone elsewhere it blasts loud!!! Robin Eller is awful and I’ll avoid her in the future. Love VC Andrews as an author but this audiobook is awful.

I’ve loved these books forever but...
Revisado: 06-11-18
I’ve waited years for audio book versions of these books - The narration is a bit jarring. The violin playing is fine but the singing is dreadful. Mispronounced words in beloved stories is unacceptable- Cherry Jones is not the best “voice” of Laura.

Horrible narration
Revisado: 10-23-17
You can actually hear the narrator sucking on a throat lozenge or candy - so gross and distracting from a book I want to love.
