Historia
As the days pass, I begin to realize how much my life is missing. Companionship. Romance. Intimacy. When I discover my heart has space for one more female, it’s a lost cause, another curveball. The hot-as-hell nanny is leaving soon for a mission trip to Central America. No sense in letting myself fantasize about Jessa being a permanent part of my life. The closer we get, the more difficult it becomes to keep my feelings in check, because my heart won’t listen. And neither will my libido.

I couldn’t get through it. It’s shallow but it’s also poorly written and narrated (except for Sebastian).

I don’t get the 5 star raving reviews. Not loving the narrator. I am having a horrible time keeping up with whether the POV is from Alice or Elizabeth or Frankie or even Nick. Everyone sounds the same. Same speed. Same cadence. I’m struggling to finish. It puts me to sleep.

I proposed on our first date. She laughed and told me I was insane. Less than a day later, she said yes. It was a whirlwind, but we were happy. Until we got greedy and wanted a family. It was a life I couldn't give her, not for lack of trying. Fertility just wasn't on our side.

It really wasn’t a whole book. It was half a book. So prepare to purchase two books when you get this one. It wasn’t even a cliffhanger. It was just half of a book. FYI.

Hazel Hart was a successful romance novelist until a breakup drives her straight into writer’s block. Having failed (and failed some more) to deliver her new manuscript, she’s hiding from the world behind a wall of old takeout containers until her publisher lays down the law. If she misses her next deadline it’s The End. Desperate for inspiration, Hazel impulse-buys a historic home online and flees Manhattan to tiny Story Lake, PA. Upon her dramatic arrival—involving an incident with a bald eagle—she discovers the charm of her new home may have been slightly exaggerated.

Hate to be harsh but this was possibly the stupidest book I’ve ever listened to. Not sure if it’s the female narrator or the story, but I do not understand the hype. Do not recommend.

Ugh… on the first book. Hoping things get better.
Revisado: 02-11-25
I could hardly listen to Emma Wilder. Cringeworthy. Teddy is always fabulous. Kind of wasted an opportunity to listen to Teddy which was the whole reason I bought this title. Story tried too hard to be funny. Will update after book two. Love Zachary Webber but Emily is a new narrator for me. Fingers crossed.

Loved this compilation of stories…but.
Revisado: 02-09-25
I’ve just finished the fourth out of five books in this series and I have loved every single one of them and I’m really looking forward to this last one.
However, I hate to be negative, but I feel like the author should know Tor Thom completely ruined Sylvia’s story. I wanted to hear it and loved the female narrator but I had to force myself to get through his chapters and the last chapter before the epilogue was absolutely cringeworthy and brutal to listen to. I was so grateful when Sylvia did the epilogue.
Otherwise, every single other narrator (including Stephen Dexter, a new narrator for me) and all the rest of the books were great, but that one was a disappointment.

Historia
When grumpy, muscled-up artist Bennett Bishop bothers to speak, it’s usually to say something you’re not ready to hear. When he first speaks to Norah Ellis, a rambling runaway bride who hitchhikes a ride from him, it’s to tell her to get out of his truck and walk because she’s a pain in the a-s-s. By appearance, Norah Ellis is a fancy fashionista who’s spent the last several years living the good life in the city—expensive apartments, highbrow events, and a fiancé with wealth and good looks. The only problem is that she didn’t choose any of it for herself.

I loved how the way it jumped back-and-forth helped to wind the parts of their lives together for the ultimate culmination. The two narrators were a perfect fit, and made the story even more incredible to devour. Highly recommend.
