nice to see that Glynn Stewart has been able to shift the main character focus to an earlier character as Damian has become to senior to be in the field.

Historia
Cent can teleport. So can her parents, but they are the only people in the world who can. This is not as great as you might think it would be - sure, you can go shopping in Japan and then have tea in London, but it's hard to keep a secret like that. And there are people, dangerous people, who work for governments and have guns, who want to make you do just this one thing for them. And when you're a teenage girl things get even more complicated. High school. Boys. Global climate change, refugees, and genocide. Orbital mechanics.

Historia
When the star system of Legatus was preparing to secede from the Protectorate of the Mage-King of Mars, it was the secret agents of the Legatan Military Intelligence Directorate that laid the groundwork and fought the covert war to make it happen. Now, as the open conflict draws to a bloody stalemate, LMID has been broken. Their leader is dead, murdered by agents of the Republic they helped birth. Their surviving agents have scattered, following a final protocol that orders them to defect to the Protectorate. An old friend brings all of this to Damien Montgomery.

Revisado: 06-22-23
He has the understanding of space navies similar to David Weber. Different type of FTL and siciety, but they fit together on top of a great story. There are also indications he's familiar with David Webers works.

Historia
For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going.

Determined to save the antiques store she has inherited from ruin after the unexplained disappearance of her parents, Sarah Lester discovers a jumbled collection of vintage postcards that leads her on a journey through time. Unprepared for the story the postcards weave about their reclusive former owner, Sarah’s life is thrown into disarray as she is transported to Victorian London, colonial New Zealand, and to the British Raj in 19th-century India.

Interesting, but no ending
Revisado: 03-20-23
Echoing another reviewer, the story is at times confusing. The end of the 1st book doesn't seem to wrap up much, almost as if the book was split for length rather than reaching at least a partial conclusion.
I picked up the 1st book as part of Audible Plus, and will likely eventually pick up the rest of the series for Audible credits.

Historia
This Economist book describes emerging military technologies and places them in the larger context of today's politics, diplomacy, business and social issues. It shows how efforts to win wars or keep the peace are driving enormous and multifold technological advances. Broadly speaking, defence technologies will continue to provide enormous advantages to advanced, Western armed forces. For anyone who wants to know just how smart the global war, defence and intelligence machine is, this will be revealing and fascinating reading.

Historia
In a near future, the air pollution is so bad that everyone wears gas masks. The infant mortality rate is soaring, and birth defects, new diseases, and physical ailments of all kinds abound. The water is undrinkable - unless you're poor and have no choice. Large corporations fighting over profits from gas masks, drinking water, and clean food tower over an ineffectual, corrupt government.

Dated ecology dystopia
Revisado: 01-21-22
When the book was written in 1972, the setting made some sense in a very dystopian look at the world. The book hasn't aged well. Looking back, even in the late 1970s it hadn't aged well.
At best it helped stir the political will for enforcement and attitude changes to stop pollution.

Historia
Zero is just one of 20,000 people aboard a spaceship bound for a new planet set to be colonized. The journey is over a century long but luckily, everyone is in stasis, so they’ll be safe and sound asleep during the trip. Everyone that is, except for Zero, whose pod has malfunctioned, waking him up a hundred years early. His initial excitement in roaming the ship alone quickly turns to a heart-stopping interstellar adventure when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and take the colonizers hostage.

poor scifi
Revisado: 12-20-19
I found the characters unrealistic even for kids. They were to much the special savior with to many things only seeming to be there to try and save the story..
also the science part seemed poorly done. the drive is an standard acceptable trope as are the stasis pods. other parts seemed off as if the writer wasn't familiar with sci-fi or ships. The use of fore rather than bow was the most jarring. failure to do basic research.
