Historia
The year is 2047, and teleportation is the cutting-edge transportation method of choice - Teleportation Services International (TSI) operates facilities in all of the world’s major cities. When Lillian, a TSI employee, wins a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation, she knows it’s just a photo op for the tech giant, but she takes the opportunity and books a trip to Tokyo with her husband Jackson and their six-year-old son Cole. But before they arrive, tragedy strikes: Cole disappears in transit.

Too slow, basic theme
Revisado: 03-27-20
Theme was like rescuing Carol Anne from Poltergeist (without the suspense). The book was very slow and focused on details that did not move the plot forward much. I increased the speed of the audiobook to 1.75 times just to move the story ahead faster. Interesting concept, but not very original.
Could have been a much better book with some good editing and higher level of sci-fi detail.

Mother and warrior. Scholar and spy. Rebel and hero. Set in a magical world of terror and wonder, this novel is a deeply felt epic of courage and war, in which the fates of these characters intertwine - and where ordinary people become heroes, and their lives become legend.

Great story, difficult to understand the reader
Revisado: 11-09-17
Kevin Hearne wrote an amazing tale, intricate, detailed, and consistent. The story was told from the perspective of a bard which was very well done.
Luke Daniels read very well, as always.
Xe Sands, who read the female sections, was very hard to understand. I had to fully concentrate to understand only about 80% of what she said. I could not listen and see the story in my mind’s eye. This became so frustrating that I almost returned the audiobook and read the paperback instead. I lost the ability to see the continuity of the story. In fact, I missed major plot points only realizing later that a character died because I couldn’t understand the female sections.
I highly recommend that the female sections be re-recorded by another female reader and a new version of the audiobook be produced.

Historia
It’s only a slight exaggeration to say that the British mathematician Alan Turing (1912-1954) saved the Allies from the Nazis, invented the computer and artificial intelligence, and anticipated gay liberation by decades--all before his suicide at age forty-one. This classic biography of the founder of computer science, reissued on the centenary of his birth with a substantial new preface by the author, is the definitive account of an extraordinary mind and life.

AI enthusiasts will be amazed
Revisado: 07-28-16
Anyone interested in artificial intelligence should listen to this comprehensive story of Alan Turing's life. It is a bit long winded at points, but worth the listen.

Historia
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest. Breq is both more than she seems and less than she was. Years ago, she was the Justice of Toren - a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of corpse soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy. An act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with only one fragile human body.

Horribly dull listen
Revisado: 03-18-16
I couldn't believe how boring the narrator made this story. I could only trudge through the first hour and a half before stopping and returning the book. The promise of cool AI multi entity characters was undermined by the utterly dull writing and presentation. DON'T waste your time.

Good use of superpowers, but shallow characters
Revisado: 03-04-15
Wonderful imagery, simple and somewhat shallow characters, creative super power strength and weakness combinations. Entertaining, but juvenile. The narrator read the story well.
