Historia
When Giganton Airlines sponsors a one-of-a-kind “Cruise in the Air,” promising everyone onboard a love match, travel blogger Shelly Marshall signs up, going incognito to prove their guarantee is false advertising. Future CEO of Giganton Airlines, Leander Klampton, is attending his company’s singles cruise to meet his favorite travel blogger, and more importantly, so his mother will lay off interfering in his love life. Inexplicably drawn to his seatmate, even after a few misunderstandings, he can't seem to stay away from her.

Will they find love or turbulence
Revisado: 05-09-25
There's having one's head up in the clouds, figuratively. And then there's having your head literally in the clouds.
Jenny Rabe introduces the FMC, Shelly, as the journalist/blogger, who plans a trip to hopefully write a scathing story about how a particular airline uses less-than-above-board tactics with their passengers.
Leander, MMC plays a significant role in the company, though he tries to keep that to himself.
The airline is hoping to play matchmaker with the passengers.
Never wanting to give out too many details, I'll leave it at that.
This book is an adorable read! Enemies to lovers, heir to a large corporation, close proximity.
This sweet romance hit me right where I needed it to! In between some longer, epic, world building darker reads, this was the cliche but true palette cleanser.
I recommend this!

Historia
Cade Richards is the starting forward of the NHL team the Cranes. He’s at the top of his game and scoring like a champ. On a quick trip home, he runs into Iris, the woman he’s spent his adult life striving to be good enough for, the one who holds his heart. Iris Feldmore’s life is in shambles. Everything she’s worked for has crumbled. Her brother returns home with his best friend—her first love, Cade—in tow. The hockey team gave Cade the nickname of Heartbreaker, and it’s fitting because he broke hers. If she’s honest with herself, she’s never gotten over it.

Ice and Spice!
Revisado: 02-18-25
This is my first Ellie Wade book. It's also my first hockey romance. And I am not disappointed in either!
I will definitely be reading as many of this author's books as I can get my hands on!
I read immersively - with both physical the book and the audiobook at the same time.
With several tropes represented, the characters were well developed! Best friend's sibling, second chance romance, childhood sweethearts, and first physical love are the ones on the tip of my tongue.
Cade, a professional hockey player, and Iris, the little sister to Beckett, also an NHL player and Cade's best friend are the main characters.
While hockey might be played on ice, there's nothing cold about Cade and Iris' attraction: spicy-spicy! I'd say 3-4 🌶️🌶️🌶️-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, but very well written.
Like I said, I will definitely read more! I highly recommend this if you're in the mood for some well written plot, fun, and spice!

It's never too late. It's never too late.
Revisado: 02-16-25
This contemporary romance introduces modern day FMC Fiona, with her family, comprised of husband, son, and daughter. There is an early plot twist, leading us to meet MMC Simon, when he was just 13 years old, and she 11. Life happens, as it does!
Author Alexandra Shaw crafts a complex story that has, of course, several different conflicts and resolutions.
The love story between the main characters is fiery, and I loved it! There were, at times, moments that I was telling Simon to chill down. But his love for Fiona is true. So is his... appetite... as was hers to him.
We love, we lose, we bargain, we choose. It's never too late to make amends, as long as it's done before one is gone. We can apologize and make up, forgive, forget, go for love, but we have to DO. That's what I'm reminded of when reading this book.
Check the summary on Amazon for trigger warnings or things to consider. To partially quote, "Please be advised this book delves into issues such as mental health, death and explores some elements of BDSM...."
I believe this is the third book that I've read of Ms. Shaw's. I'll be reading more! I highly recommend her books!

Hearts, Hardships, and Harrowing
Revisado: 01-12-25
I took a few days between finishing this book and reviewing it because I wanted to give it the time that it deserved.
I listened to this on Audible, as the author gave it to me in this form for review. I looked up the page numbers, as I couldn't believe the emotional roller coaster Ms. Shaw took me on in such a short time. In case you're wondering, it's 97 pages of writing from cover to cover.
Almost immediately, the female main character experienced a traumatic event. The male main character, who came to her rescue, became lovingly protective of her. She and he began to have feelings for each other. As a female reader who has experienced somewhat similar and significant trauma to the very young woman, I felt an immediate connection to her. This also led me to feeling grateful for the man who helped her.
The story leads us, very quickly through terrifying events with historical nuances. As a reader, I was momentarily transported into a Jewish family, language, dialect, and I swear I could taste and smell the foods and scents described.
I don't like to give spoilers, so I strongly encourage you to read this book yourself! I'm sure the physical book is amazing, but I LOVED listening to the author's narration on Audible! Perhaps give immersive reading a try doing both at the same time!
This is the second book I've read by Alexandra Shaw. She has several more! I am thrilled to say that this is a 5 ⭐ read for me, and I will eagerly read more by her!

Stunning Story as well as Naration!!
Revisado: 01-01-25
This is, at the time of my writing this review, a triple award winning novel. It's deserving of these as well as so much more! C. A. Varian painted a beautiful and terrifying work of art, with her description and emotion. Vulnerable yet resilient Scarlett, dark yet compassionate Bane as the main characters in this book worthy of becoming an Oscar winning movie. I didn't want the book to end! This is one in which the fictional characters came to life and will live forever inside my mind!

Historia
Living in a year around Christmas town has its drawbacks. The caroling, the decorations, the insanely cheery spirit, it never disappears. It's why I like to hibernate away in my cave - I mean housekeeping a healthy distance from the holly jolly spirits. And all was going according to plan until my nemesis, Storee Taylor, moved in next door to care for her Aunt Cindy. Without blinking, she turned my simple world into a real nightmare-before-Christmas, especially when she decided to enter the town Christmas Kringle contest - which she was determined to win.

Naughty or Nice?
Revisado: 12-29-24
Where do I begin? This was, by far, the best Christmas book that I read in 2024. The plot was well structured, engaging, and held my attention non-stop. While there was certainly a lot of humor that was meant to be funny and even unbelievable, the characters were actually relatable and believable. Max is my favorite! Fake dating, grumpy to sunshine, and definitely ties to characters in an old story that most of us have read or seen. I couldn't wait to see how it would play out. The ending has several twists! Enjoyable from the first page to the last! Highly enjoyable and I rate it 5/5 easily!
