So realistic that my mind could hear the ticking as the turbine of the shutdown engine freewheeling in the flightdeck breeze, and feel the thunderous roar of the A1 flying dump truck as the Sandies made it safe for the jolly greens to come in. I have read several other Steven Coonts novels in the Jake Grafton series and decided to go back to the beginning. He has been one of my favorite authors for over 35 years. This novel is about as real as it gets, and yet it is fiction.

Like most of his other books, this book was well researched by Orson Scott Card. in a different timeliness, I may have given this novel higher marks. However, with the events in the world over the past 2-1/2 years, I find the story line a disturbing reminder that there are virologists and geneticists in the world who are playing God. This could lead to breakthroughs in medicine that will lead to cures to many diseases where none existed before. But the potential for great harm exists as well. I pray that proper precautions and safeguards are in place to protect this area of medicine from misuse.

I have given away over a dozen copies of this book. I first purchased a copy of this book about 15 years ago, after watching Jim Wooten discuss the book during an interview on a Sunday morning TV show that I stumbled upon. I never thought that a small child in South Africa who died from AIDS, and one who I never met, could have made such an impression on my heart. if you listen to this book, you will walk away believing the 5 simple words that Nkosi Johnson wanted the whole world to hear. "We are all the same". IMHO, this book should be required reading in every school in the world.

when I say "I don't like this genre", I mean that's I really, without question, absolutely, do not like this genre. But this book is captivating. it is well written, and it is honest. I couldn't stop listening until it was finished. This is the type of book that only a very gifted author who lived out content can write so well. I think anyone who reads (or listens) to this book will enjoy it. Bravo to the author.

I have heard snippets of conversations about this book at work for over 15 years. My youngest son asked me to send him a copy when he was serving in Afghanistan. there might have been a spark of interest in the book a time or two, but I never thought that it would be a book that I would enjoy. it was the 5 minute sample that set the hook in my jaw. then I couldn't get enough. Once I started listening, I couldn't get enough. the only problem I have with the book is that it is way too short. If only it were 5 times longer. Now I will have to check Google to see if it may be the first part of a trilogy. it was way better than I expected and thus I now understand the almost cult like following it has at work.

Having read all the available Dirk Pitt and Oregon Files novels, I thought it might be time to seek out a new author. I didn't think that a pair of treasure hunters would interest me, but I thought I would give one novel from the Sam and Remi Fargo series a try, and I am so glad I did.

The adventure was captivating from beginning to end. The plot was very well researched. The characters were believable. The cast of Characters from the other two series are gone, and the adventures occur on land, not upon the sea, as is the case with the other series. it's as if I have discovered a different author. I can't imagine any lover of adventure novels, not loving this book IMHO, a 5 star novel.

Dirk Cussler is every bit as talented as his father. I look forward to reading books he is yet to write as he continues his father's legacy. if only other great authors such as Dale Brown, Stephen Coonts and Tom Clancy, and many others had children to carry on their legacy.

tin. another Ivy League stooge, kissing the feet of the oligarchs of the American Hegemony. He must have brought the penchant for accusations without evidence from his time at CNN. Blessed with a bill signed into law, they were free to spew all of the propaganda they could muster, so they left their roots as a news organization behind. For 5 years it was Russia Russia Russia, Putin Putin, Putin's Puppet. Not to forget, collusion collusion. the walls are closing in, fine people on both sides, dog whistle this, dog whistle that, beginning of the end, Russia Russia. it's no wonder CNN's ratings are in the gutter and they are in litigation with their second major defamation of a minor lawsuit in less than 5 years. If you enjoyed all of the propaganda and lack of concrete evidence CNN spouted over the past 5 years, then this book is definitely for you, because the book has it all. if however, you want a factual account of the aTrump Presidency, you must look elsewhere. Fortunately, the court of law is based upon evidence, and this book wouldn't pass muster for that. I wonder if Ray Bradbury may have foreseen this book? Certainly, Montag would have given the book and extra douse of that royal blue K1 spirit before he struck his igniter.

I read the book twice since it first came out so I had to listen on audiobook. I enjoyed the movie. I heard or read somewhere that the books that came after were not going to make it into movies because SJW's canceled Orson Scott Card over some sort of nonsense. He needs to become unconcerned because Speaker for the dead and Xenocide need to be made into either two movies or combined into one movie.

As a fan of Ender's game, I enjoyed reading what happened to the Child heros, and how Ender's brother Peter became Hegemon. But apart from brief mentions of the space fleet and off world colonization, if a reader pulled the book from a shelf to read, I don't see how this it fits into the Science fiction drama. No futuristic weapons, communications devices, vehicles or aircraft. No technology to indicate this was a world that sent a fleet of ships traveling close to the speed of light dozens of light years from earth to exterminate a giant ant hill in orbit around a distant star. It would be like reading a murder mystery where nobody dies.
