Historia
April 25, 1986 in Chernobyl was a turning point in world history. The disaster not only changed the world’s perception of nuclear power and the science that spawned it, but also our understanding of the planet’s delicate ecology. With the images of the abandoned homes and playgrounds beyond the barbed wire of the 30-kilometer Exclusion Zone, the rusting graveyards of contaminated trucks and helicopters, the farmland lashed with black rain, the event fixed for all time the notion of radiation as an invisible killer.

The tragedy.
Revisado: 04-06-25
This is the best history of the tragedy of Chernobyle(sp?)that I have read. I was 24 when this happened and it didn't change my opinion on nuclear power but it did condemn communism.

Historia
The definitive, intimate, no-holds-barred biography of Johnny Cash. People don't just listen to Johnny Cash - they believe in him. Although part of his life has been told on film, there are many compelling layers to his story that have remained hidden - until now. Robert Hilburn tells the unvarnished truth about a musical icon whose personal life was far more troubled and his artistry much more profound than even his most devoted fans have realized.

For those who love Cash
Revisado: 07-05-24
The true life story of Johnny Cash from start to finish. I've seen "Walk the Line" several times but that was just the beginning. This is not a Hollywood fairy tale but the junkie who was saved from himself. Pain in Cashs' soul is what comes through in this story.

Historia
In this remarkable WWII story by New York Times best-selling author John R. Bruning, a renegade American pilot fights against all odds to rescue his family - imprisoned by the Japanese - and revolutionizes modern warfare along the way. From the knife fights and smuggling runs of his youth to his fiery days as a pioneering naval aviator, Paul Irving "Pappy" Gunn played by his own set of rules and always survived on his wits and fists. But when he fell for a conservative Southern belle, her love transformed him from a wild and reckless airman to a cunning entrepreneur.

A biography of a great man who is unknown to most.

I was interested to know of another Arkansas native who was wise enough to leave home. I was amazed by how he was able to force the military to listen to a concept and have it proven by his force of will. I am not a wordsmith but this book is outstanding.

Historia
The Venona Files are several intercepted communiques between the Soviet Union and American Communists following WWII. Some historians and journalists are starting to regard the Cold-War-era American Communist Party as nothing more than a quaint club of polite if misguided ideologues. In The Venona Secrets, Herbert Romerstein and Eric Breindel intend to create a new impression of treacherous Americans "who willfully gave their primary allegiance to a foreign power, the USSR."

I read a similar book back in the 90's when this information first came out and this really fleshes out the original information. I plan on buying a hard back book so that my son is not deceived by the lies of the left currently being fed to the youth of today. I will not live to see it but the left is giving the " Communism will be different in America" speel that has deceived so many in the past. May God watch over this nation and forgive us for our sins of the past.

Historia
Red November is filled with hair-raising, behind-the-scenes stories that take you deep beneath the surface and into the action of the Cold War. Few know how close the world has come to annihilation better than the warriors who served America during the tense, 45-year struggle known as the Cold War. Yet for decades, their work has remained shrouded in secrecy.

Historia
Anyone living in Rhodesia during the 1960s and 1970s would have had a father, husband, brother, or son called up in the defense of the war-torn, landlocked little country. A few of these brave men would have been members of the elite and secretive unit that struck terror into the hearts of the ZANLA and ZIPRA guerrillas infiltrating the country at that time - the Selous Scouts.

A true story of a hard war.
Revisado: 06-14-23
I have enjoyed the story of the hell that Andy went through and ended up in a bad spot anyway. You can never trust a politician, something that his life proves true. America is headed down the same path now, and unless God saves us, we will endure a similar situation.
