Chaos Magic is very much a part of most modern witchcraft and even folk magic. This book is my favorite explaination and guide to these energies and this way of thinking/working.
It's a great listen, but you will likely want a physical copy.

Mat approaches the teaching of witchcraft and explains witchcraft as someone who loves witchcraft and appreciates it deeply. I listen to this as a witch who started out in the 90s, and it feels like Mat was producing the book we all wish we had: Great,
ethical, inclusive, intersectional, and or queer Witchcraft foundations and their meanings and origins. I think this book would be a valuable find for any practitioner, At the core of it, it's clear that Mat brings his heart to his teaching and writing and I am ever grateful for that.

Witchcraft Scholarship Humor and Wonder

Salty Witches of Cat n Cauldron share information and origins of various traditions and practices in witchcraft, occult, and alt spiritual, with loads of attention to critical thinking, ethics, psychology, and pragmatic advice, all while being irreverent and funny. They also take viewer/listener questions and are willing even to respond offline if you have a private question.

Michael has a Ph.D. in Theology, Austin has been trained as a Gardnerian Priest, is a reiki practitioner, conjure and root worker, and top-notch incense maker.

Fantastic to listen to great information, and get a laugh!

Felicia Day is rad, but there are just way too ...

Many sound effects in this for me, I liked her first audio book performance alot, it felt like a conversation, but this feels more like Felicia as Manic Pixie GIRL I found the messages wonderful, but the performance jarring.
Maybe im too old!?

Great storytelling, insightful, very funny

This book is a great mix of recovery, relfecting on one's youth with the added bonus of great nerd stories. It will undoubtedly not be for everyone- but this was absolutely for me! I very much enjoy listening to Wil and he shares many great stories of various stripes. I have great respect for anyone who can look at themselves over the span of thier life and own mistakes willingly.As another PTSD survivor it is refreshing to hear a story of a full life along side diagnosis. Thanks Wil!

I don't know what I was expecting. .

I am shocked -as a stan of Tracy and Mother, how I did not enjoy this book. Even the read was stiff and forced. I don't know what happened here.This was not it. Gonna go back to watching reruns of Uhhhn.I wanted to be one of three things: funny, thought provoking or just completely random and bizarre.Didnt get any of those things. really shocked still...

I found it saccarine in places. but it was clearly intentioned to be that way, some good ideas, some.pure woo...ultimately glad i read it, even if I didnt agree with all of it.

Would you consider the audio edition of You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) to be better than the print version?

I listened to this in one sitting because it was both entertaining and engrossing to listen to while I worked. I think that Felicia's history as a performer lends to her being able to read a book aloud to us well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)?

The way she became a gamer, the way she talks about gaming, its so... validating? gratifying? to listen to another woman talk about gaming the way that my friends and I talk about it.

Have you listened to any of Felicia Day and Joss Whedon - foreword ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not audio performances like this, no.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh more than I thought it would, it made me smile alot, and nod. and occasionally swear.

Any additional comments?

I am a fan of FD, but I came away from the book liking her more, and I enjoyed the book more than I expected to for a number of reasons.

Amusing tales reflecting on contemporary death.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I think this book outlines the many approaches to dealing with the dead, the problems of the absence of bodies in our culture, while also being a funny read about a 20 something trying to navigate their place in the world.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes?

Most of the narrations about working in the crematorium but particularly the parts involving dead children and babies and the management of their bodies.I'd say more but I wouldn't do those passages justice.

What about Caitlin Doughty’s performance did you like?

I think Caitlin has a great conversational tone and animated speech pattern that works great for audio books.

Any additional comments?

It is so nice to hear that I am not alone thinking that some of our approaches to death and dying need to be rethought.It was interesting to learn about the ins and outs of embalming and cremation, its a more personal look at death but in a similar vein to Stiffed.
