Historia
When the perfidious t’au bring down a valkyrie containing an Astra Militarum general on the besieged Imperial world of Dasht i-Kevar, all could be lost—what the general knows could break the war effort, and see the planet fall under the control of the vile xenos. Only the Kasrkin stand a chance at bringing him back. They are the elite of the elite, but the enemy that Captain Bharath Obeysekera and his squad are called upon to fight is unlike any they have faced before—the desert itself, endless and implacable

Characters!
Revisado: 07-15-24
This was slow to start, but once it gets going, it just kept getting better. The characters are diverse, interesting and fun. The level of subtle almost passive humor is brilliant. And the insight into multiple factions was very satisfying. I’m always a fan of the “normal” people, sure they’re Kasrkin, but they’re not demigod super soldiers and their emotions, flaws and personalities are far more interesting. Definitely worth the listen.
The VA is also top notch!

Stoop and Sting
Revisado: 05-29-24
Great story into the lives of Imperial Guard pilots. The showcase and descriptions were amazing and the multiple characters didn’t feel shallow or less than any other even the more main characters are portrayed as equals to their side characters. Great tale all around.

Historia
For 10,000 years, Cadia stood as a bastion against the daemonic tide spewing forth from the Eye of Terror. But now the Fortress World lies in ruins, its armies decimated in the wake of Abaddon the Despoiler and his Thirteenth Black Crusade. Those who survived, though haunted by the loss of their beloved homeworld, remain bloodied and unbarred, fighting ruthlessly in the Emperor’s name. Amongst them is the indomitable Sergeant Minka Lesk.

Last is a good fighter for 18
Revisado: 11-28-23
The story had a good flow overall and the characters were interesting. I listened to it over the course of a month so most of it is fuzzy but it gave a good inside look into how the Cadians feel and act after the Fall of Cadia.
The multiple characters and the focus on each feels balanced and not overly complicated. The story was fairly predictable but still entertaining.
