Sisterhood can be complicated when you are queer

I’ve never read something that both broke something open inside of me and healed part of me at the same time. Having an older sister can sometimes feel like standing at the edge of a chasm—close to one another, yet separated by an overwhelming distance. Sometimes it feels like we’re standing side by side ready to jump together, other times it feels like you are looking across the chasm staring at one another, then times you feel like you are standing alone waiting for her to show up. There events that happens in your life that help you both to take a step away from that edge together, they are rarely joyful moments. They often come from a place of pain, yet after you feel like you can walk away together breathing easier knowing you aren’t alone.

We Could Be Rats captured those feelings beautifully. I found myself crying several times throughout this book, but it was the kind of cry that brings peace by the end. This book reminded me that, despite all the differences between my sister and me, I would never have made it this far without her.

Painful yet beautiful

I thought this book did a beautiful job show two different women battling their own traumas but wanting to overcome them both individually and also for the other person.
I would give it a 3.5/5 on the spice level. There are several sex scenes, most of them are a decent length and descriptive.

I normally really enjoy Georgia Beers books. This one however fell a little flat to me. Outside of the one sex scene it felt boarder line like a YA novel. Which had I realized that going in I may have enjoyed it more.
Lula Larkin isn’t my favorite narrator personally but I think she did a good job.

I LOVE this book. I have read it so many times. The internal dialogue is done so well, the sex scenes are hot, and Abby Craden does an amazing job brining these characters to life.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I thought it was sweet and different from the usual romance.
It moved a little fast in certain areas but not enough to make me not enjoy the book. I personally like the mundane of two characters falling in love so I would’ve like more of that, but I still thought it was great and I recommend it.

I have listened to this book 3 times in the past couple of months. I love it so much. Abby Craden does an amazing job narrating such a heart warming story. The character development was so touching and felt like the characters really grew together.

The sex scenes were very hot!

Stephanie Nemeth Parker, and Quinn Riley did a fantastic job narrating this story, and I felt their voices complemented one another well.
