Historia
Gregory’s year-long posting along the northern wilds was done. He’d had to face corrupt magi, assassination attempts, aether-using bane beasts, and even deal with the loss of some of his men. The year had left a mark on his soul. He’d accepted the burden of leadership fully, knowing that his men could and would die under his command. He might’ve avoided all of it if he hadn’t made his moral stand, using the empire’s slave laws to force the corruption to come to light. Because he had, it threw his posting into conflict.

pushes the story further along, also bloopers are by far too funny
Revisado: 05-16-24
i will only complain this wasn't near long enough, as i want so much more of this. that being said the bloopers at the end of these readings have been by far the best thing to get a chuckle out of me.

Historia
Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden has had a rough couple of weeks. As the only openly practicing professional wizard in the Chicago area, he has squared off against a multitude of supernatural bad guys. Harry has won the day against demons, poltergeists, sorcerers, trolls, vampires, werewolves, and even an evil faerie godmother. You might think nothing could spook him. You would be wrong.

one issue
Revisado: 09-16-23
I am a new fan of the series. However, i have an issue that has to be said: spoiler warning. So far in this series, I have noticed that Dresden has a seriously bad issue as a character, namely, he doesn't communicate risks to any of the other characters at all. Furthermore, when he does communicate the risk somewhat, the other characters seem to be in the process of trying to commit suicide by being the dumbest fuckwit possible. The cop he associates with has been guilty of this at most every turn. However, in this book, the reporter he dates, she could have gotten a darwen award with her actions. The main character is definitely likable, but why is he surrounded by dumb asses? Why did we feel the need to replace mistrusting cop A, who died in the last book, with distrusting cop B? Why is there a distrusting cop for paranormal investigations questioning the validity of him being a wizard in the first place, especially after seeing proof multiple times? I'm going to stick around, but i swear, the anger I am now getting at incompetent characters being a reason that the story moves forward is insane. I have shouted at these characters' incompetent actions like a stereotypical football fan on sunday because he cowboys are doing what they do. I know i am also late to start this series, and it's a part of the draw as i could buy the entire collection if i wanted, but i am starting to question why bother?

It' bad, but as always, it could have been better.
Revisado: 04-11-23
So the performance wasn't bad. I only have to complain that every once in a while, the narration either dropped out on the recording or something. it would have me going back to relisten to see if i just missed it or something.
The story was fun to listen to and kept me entertained for the most part. It might be cheesy, but that is how i like my pizza too. My only complaint is this MC pulling all the women with absolutely no effort. Then again, it might be a genre complaint at this point, as we all know that the MC of an isekai is getting a harem.
Overall, it's a solid read if you enjoy the genre.

Very entertaining but...
Revisado: 03-17-23
so the thing is that it has me worried that it might be a dead in the water type of series, as there have been no new entries in the series since 2020. Otherwise, the story is an isekai with no truck kun and plenty of development for a character that is supposed to be basically max level. Honestly, the only thing to complain about here is that there are no other entries on this series. So let's see some more, please?

Historia
Things are not well within the Lodrak Empire. An entire city goes up in smoke and ash, and an entire province is slowly being consumed by an ever-expanding cloud of death. But while the humans rally to contain the fallout of this disaster, they are much quicker to pin the blame for it on their elven neighbors to the north. With centuries' worth of strife and bad blood between the two nations flaring up, all out war is rapidly becoming an inevitability.
