Historia
Soaring ambition. Unwavering integrity. Billie Joe Armstrong isn’t the first punk to negotiate mainstream success, but he might be its most undisguised example. In Welcome to my Panic, Green Day’s iconic front man holds nothing back as he tracks listeners though his deeply personal and artistic journey in raw detail. Matching his emotional storytelling with new, exclusive, recordings of Green Day’s biggest hits, Armstrong chronicles the seminal moments in his life: the trauma and triumphs that have come to define him.

love green day
Revisado: 08-22-21
I love green day so I thought this would be a great read but I feel like there wasn't much new information in this. I also would love one of the other 2 to speak up more, I feel like Billie is the parent of the group while Tre and Mike are running around causing trouble

Historia
Here for the first time, in rich human, political, and scientific detail, is the complete story of how the bomb was developed, from the turn-of-the-century discovery of the vast energy locked inside the atom to the dropping of the first bombs on Japan. Few great discoveries have evolved so swiftly - or have been so misunderstood. From the theoretical discussions of nuclear energy to the bright glare of Trinity, there was a span of hardly more than 25 years.

Informative, but wandering
Revisado: 08-18-21
This is a great story;it starts by introducing the main players in the theory of nuclear physics at the turn of the century. Give a background of the research that was done and how one experiment lead to another and it cascaded into the bombs. However, was a bit wandering at times, I remember a long description on the use of poison gas in the Great War, which felt out of place to me. Also the chapters are very long and full of dense information, I have a minor in physics and I had to go back and re listen a number of times, so I probably wouldn't recommend this to someone with no background in physics. All in all though a grad read.

good mix of entertaining and informative.
Revisado: 06-23-21
The author gives a mix of the history of translation of organs and stories from his own life. It is a good med school motivator and my Gf, enjoyed the parts she heard. (My girlfriend does not enjoy the medical field.)

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Never Knew
Revisado: 11-25-20
It is amazing to me how many heroic WW2 stories are in the world. This is the fascinating story of an Olympian who made it through harrowing fights in the pacific theater only to be captured and live through years of torture in inhumane conditions with an uplifting ending. I had a hard time stopping this audio book and kept making time to listen to it as often as possible.

Good Book
Revisado: 07-22-20
It was entertaining, a bit predictable and preachy at the end, but still good
